XCX Recomp 0.1.11
XCX Recomp 0.1.11 for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition 2.0.0.
Windows: unzip XCX-Setup-0.1.11-windows.zip, run XCX-Setup.exe, and point it at your own base game, 2.0.0 update and (optional) DLC and your keys file.
Linux (experimental): XCX-Setup-0.1.11-linux.AppImage: chmod +x it and run it. Needs glibc 2.34+, Linux 6.7+, and a Vulkan 1.3 driver with VK_EXT_external_memory_host (RADV, NVIDIA). Not yet played on real Linux or a Steam Deck; reports welcome.
The game is extracted and compiled on your PC; nothing from the game is in these downloads.
- AMD Radeon RX 5000 and RX 6000: no more crashes at startup or flickering (#27). On AMD's driver for these cards the game often lost the GPU in its first frames, and when it got through, textures flickered in menus and in the field. That driver now gets settings that avoid both: the graphics pipeline library and dynamic alpha to coverage are off, and the recorder thread is off on AMD GPUs. If the GPU is ever lost, the log now says where it stopped.
- Less stutter: pipelines are prebuilt from earlier sessions. The file that lists the pipelines you have met was rejected at every start, so each session started cold and built them while you played. It now loads, and they are built before the game starts. The shaders the installer prepares are also used now. The first start after updating still builds as before.
- Shadow edges on AMD and Intel GPUs. Shadows no longer get dashed lines along wall and floor edges.
XCX Recomp 0.1.10

Windows: unzip XCX-Setup-0.1.10-windows.zip, run XCX-Setup.exe, and point it at your own base game, 2.0.0 update and (optional) DLC and your keys file.
Linux (experimental): XCX-Setup-0.1.10-linux.AppImage: chmod +x it and run it. Needs glibc 2.34+, Linux 6.7+, and a Vulkan 1.3 driver with VK_EXT_external_memory_host (RADV, NVIDIA). Not yet played on real Linux or a Steam Deck; reports welcome.

- Game speed holds below the frame limit (#19). If the game couldn't reach the frame limit, it slowed down (82 fps under a 165 limit ran at half speed). Game time now follows the measured frame time, so the game runs at full speed whatever the frame rate.
- Camera turn speed matches 30 fps (#19). Right-stick camera turning no longer speeds up with the frame rate.
- Salvage holds take the same time at any frame rate (#19). Holding A on a salvage point filled faster above 30 fps; it now takes as long as at 30 fps.
XCX Recomp 0.1.10 issue 28 test build
Test build for #28 (the scene tearing apart for a few frames while walking or running), from branch realtime-step. Not a regular release: it is for checking the fix before it goes into one.
Windows: unzip XCX-Setup-0.1.10-issue28-test-windows.zip, run XCX-Setup.exe, and point it at your own base game, 2.0.0 update and (optional) DLC and your keys file, as with 0.1.10. The game shows version 0.1.10+d127fbe.

On GPUs with little VRAM (4 GB and under), one 420 MiB memory pool did not fit the VRAM budget, so the GPU read it straight from system memory while the game was already rewriting it for the next frame. That pool now gets a copy in system RAM that is synced when each frame is submitted, like the VRAM copies the other pools get. It costs about 420 MiB of extra RAM.
Other GPUs should see no change. Please report on #28 whether the glitch is gone, with logs/xcx.log attached.

- Character shadows fixed (#18). In daylight each character cast a second shadow, offset from them, that followed them around, and the characters themselves looked overexposed. Both came from the runtime reading the character shadow texture through the wrong image; characters now cast one shadow at their feet and are shaded properly again.

- 4K and ultrawide. Settings → Picture → Game resolution now changes the size the game draws in (3840x2160, 2560x1440, or any size in
xcx.ini, such asoutput_res = 3440x1440). Ported from Fl4sh_'s 1.0.1 resolution mods. Played at native 4K on an RTX 5090 at 120 fps; ultrawide is untested. - Windows display scaling. On a 4K monitor at 150 % scaling the window offers 3840x2160 and the picture is no longer stretched by Windows.
- Cutscene frame rate (Settings → Game): 30 fps (default), Mixed (most in-game cutscenes at your frame limit, the rest and videos at 30, as the 1.0.1 60-30FPS mod), or Limit (experimental).

- Fixes 0.1.5, which stopped every install at "Translating the game code to C". If 0.1.5 failed for you, use this one.
- Cartridge dumps (XCI) that bundle an update with the base game are accepted as the base game. The 2.0.0 update is still an NSP.
XCX Recomp 0.1.4
XCX Recomp 0.1.4 for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition 2.0.0.
Windows: unzip XCX-Setup-0.1.4-windows.zip, run XCX-Setup.exe, and point it at your own base game, 2.0.0 update and (optional) DLC NSPs and your keys file.
Linux (experimental): XCX-Setup-0.1.4-linux.AppImage: chmod +x it and run it. Needs glibc 2.34+ (SteamOS 3.8, Ubuntu 22.04, Fedora 35 and newer), Linux 6.7+, and a Vulkan 1.3 driver with VK_EXT_external_memory_host (RADV, NVIDIA). Above 60 fps is still experimental.
XCX Recomp 0.1.2
XCX Recomp 0.1.2 for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition 2.0.0.
Install: unzip, run XCX-Setup.exe, and point it at your own base game, 2.0.0 update and (optional) DLC NSPs and your keys file. The game is extracted and compiled on your PC; nothing from the game is in this download.
- 120 fps and higher limits: game speed fixed (no slow motion), battle timing prompts at normal speed.
- Cutscenes and pre-rendered movies run at 30 fps as on the console, so subtitles and lip sync stay in step; the game returns to your limit afterwards.
XCX_CUTSCENE_30=0turns this off. - Credits for TotK Recomp and the 1.0.1 60FPS mod.
Above 60 fps is still experimental.
