• refactoring / build from template :

  • use standard POSIX /bin/sh as teleport landing shell before spawning user/desired shell:
    • ensures proper shell is used to execute teleport code
    • can support non POSIX shells like fish
  • tested with /bin/sh linked to : ksh / bash / dash / busybox:
    • centos6/7/8/9 - ubuntu20/24/25 - freebsd14 - omnios11 - alpine3

• fish support:

  • install: thefly install;. ~/.fly.d/fly.fish activate
  • activate at login in ~/.config/fish/config.fish: . ~/.fly.d/fly.fish source
  • dedicated fish rc file (loaded at login/teleported): ~/.fly.d/.fishrc
  • standard teleport usage: flyas/flyto or fsu/fssh
  • fish plugin support: fly add <githubuser>/<gitrepo> (conf.d/*.fish + functions/completions)
  • connect to remote host forcing fish instead of user shell: fsshf <host> [<ssh options>]
  • sudo to another user forcing fish instead of user shell: fsuf <host>

• new:

  • FLY_TARZ variable to set tar compress option on teleport (default: -z for gzip) (-j bzip2 / -J xz ...)
