The court-grade offline draft check.

  • ocl check now also checks the statutes a draft cites (Art. 8 Abs. 1 ZGB, art. 335 al. 1 CO, § 12 StG/ZH): act known, article present, quotation against the article text. Online today; offline once statutes.sqlite sits next to the pack.
  • The report says what was established and no more: "exists" and "passage retrieved" instead of "verified"; the scope statement stands above the results; a quotation that could not be compared is "not checked", never "not found"; "not in the corpus" is qualified by what the corpus holds for the court named; citation-like strings that were not checked are listed. Report in de, fr, it or en (--language).
  • Offline mode is safe on the thread pool (0.7.0 could crash at the default --jobs 4), --local is a plain switch with --pack PATH, ocl --local doctor reports the pack, and pack failures become row errors.
  • ocl pack pull resumes an interrupted download, verifies the gzip against the published .sha256 sidecar before installing (fail-closed; --insecure overrides), records the verification for ocl pack verify, and refuses packs newer than the client reads.
  • Windows: pack directory %LOCALAPPDATA%\ocl; paths with spaces, % or # work; an Inno Setup installer around the PSF-signed embeddable runtime is built by installer-cli.yml (assets follow once the smoke test passes on the runner).

Install or update:

pipx install --force opencaselaw-cli
uv tool install --force opencaselaw-cli

Note: the first weekly verification pack is expected with the Sunday 2026-09-13 build; until it carries a .sha256 sidecar, ocl pack pull needs --insecure.
