v0.18.1 — Agent conversations and workflow tools
Optio v0.18.1 improves agent conversations and expands what Optio and other agents can do through the controller MCP.
- The Optio Agent now chooses work using Who, What, When, Where, and Then. Interactive requests default to waits-for-me work; persistent agents are reserved for explicitly long-lived work.
- Action approval happens through the approval card, removing the redundant conversational approval step.
- Agents can read interactive session history and send input through the same conversation paths used by chat, including queued messages. Local work exposes its saved conversation in run logs.
- iOS restores saved conversations more reliably across tabs, reconnects, and foreground changes, with a more compact header, composer, message layout, and approval cards.
- Added 24 controller MCP tools covering prompt-library management, model and environment discovery, event triggers, work lifecycle controls, reviews, comments, and interactive session controls. Existing ownership, workspace, approval, and access checks apply.
- Added a frontend-to-MCP capability audit. Administration remains in Settings; issue handoff, task dependencies, and advanced session controls remain follow-up work.
Validation: full local push checks and GitHub CI passed for commit 26c43d2, including unit, integration, pipeline, browser, generated-client, and Android checks. Backend changes were deployed and verified locally.
No new database migrations are included. Release artifacts include amd64/arm64 service and agent images and the Helm chart. The iOS conversation improvements are already available to the internal TestFlight group in 0.18.0 (8); this release does not upload a new native binary.
