Your books have one Library screen, with tabs for Recent, New and Authors and a view of their covers, and an SD-card font offers the sizes it was made in. KOReader sync lands on the exact page, the lists move with one set of buttons, and fonts and firmware updates download from GitHub again. The web interface has a new design and many new pages, and lives on the SD card: the first time you open it after updating, it installs itself (see the Web Interface Guide). Every language is now translated in full.
Highlights
- One Library screen with Books, Recent, New and Authors tabs, and three views: file names, details, or a grid of whole covers.
- KOReader sync lands on the exact page, in both directions, and decides who is ahead by chapter and paragraph, not by percentage.
- A new web interface. Correct a book's details and cover, optimize EPUBs (smaller pictures, long chapters split), convert your own fonts, install dictionaries and plugins, and download a diagnostics report. One design for every page, a Settings search, and light and dark colours.
- Every language complete. Catalan, Czech, Danish, Finnish, Hungarian, Kazakh, Lithuanian, Romanian, Turkish and Vietnamese no longer fall back to English. Wherever crosspoint-reader's translators had translated a string, their wording is used.
- SD-card fonts offer the sizes they were made in, and font sizes are stored in points.
- Steadier Wi-Fi: on a mesh network the reader moves to a nearer access point, a lost link no longer freezes File Transfer, and a saved password that stopped working is asked for again.
- Fixes: your saved Wi-Fi passwords could be downloaded by anyone on the network during File Transfer; a cancelled OPDS download no longer deletes the book it was replacing; custom sleep images exported from GIMP show in black and white again; GitHub downloads (fonts, updates) pass the certificate check again.
Upgrade notes
- The web interface installs its pages on your first visit. On your Wi-Fi network this happens by itself in a few seconds. For hotspot mode, download
web-….binfrom the assets below first, then choose it on the setup page or copy it to the top folder of the SD card. - Every chapter is laid out once more the first time you open it, and cover thumbnails are made again. Your place in every book is kept.
- The first visit to New or Authors builds the library index, which takes a while on a large card.
- Font sizes are converted to points on the first start. Going back to an older firmware resets them.
- KOReader sync users: a book optimized in the web interface has its long chapters split, so its chapters are numbered differently from the original. Read the same optimized file on every device, or turn off Split Long Chapters.
- Strings that only this firmware has (the Library, Diagnostics, plugins and others) were machine-translated and have not yet been reviewed by native speakers. Corrections are welcome.
