SARDAB 2.1 — DESERT presets and Ghoulbox integration
SARDAB 2.1 combines selected Ghoulbox 2.1 features with our Felucca 1.5.1 / SLOOP base, preserving maqam tuning, Scala import, tuned chord generation and desert instruments.
Open PRESETS → LIST (knob 4) → DESERT for DESERT OUD, BRASS QANUN, SANTUR, DUSK SANTUR, MIJWIZ, ARGHUL, DUNE NEY, DUNE DRUMS, SAND WIND and USR1 / USR2 / USR3. The USR entries play the banks already stored in those slots; empty slots are silent. Optional recorded banks, including Persian Tar, are uploaded through the editor's Samples tab.
Also includes USB rescue, twelve shared voices, drone latch, optional layer/split, GURDY crank, microtonal-aware note labels, temperaments and CAVE/TORCH textures. Existing SARDAB saves and upstream 2.1 projects/presets have explicit migration paths. New project records require this firmware or later; back up before updating.

Development preview: physical-device validation is pending. Build, pitch, migration, functional UI, 152 audio reference renders, 720 engine-switch renders, WebAssembly/native equivalence, sample persistence and loader simulations pass. The broad suite remains red on existing screen-layout findings and a small PHASER host-cost estimate overrun that also reproduces on the previous source. Target static budgets pass; these are not measured device timing results.
Source: bb65def. Application: 579,304 bytes (2,260 free). Package: 610,086 bytes, identity FM-1_900. SHA-256: 2ab4bd41b416f432b0068c2ffc8117da0c023508ba19825403a9f7b94c082e76.
The ZIP includes firmware, license texts, build identity and installation instructions. Flashing does not install optional sample banks or erase your existing banks.
Dungeons of the Desert — microtonal preview 2
Dungeons of the Desert adds CITADEL, a 78 BPM Bayati-on-D scene; DESERT OUD, BRASS QANUN, DUNE NEY, DUNE DRUMS and SAND WIND presets; and three new patterns.
Optional CC0 Oud, Qanun and Ney Air banks are available in the editor's Samples tab. Prepare fills a draft; Upload replaces the selected user slot after confirmation. Installing firmware does not install or overwrite these banks. Source credits, hashes, pitch calibration and WAVs are included in the sample ZIP. Ney Air preserves performance bends; these are compact one-shots.

Tuning fixes cover the detuned ANALOG SUB, NOISE LFSR, saturated noise rates, and consistent SAMPLE/GRAIN precision across altered and unaltered chord notes. Native tests play the actual user banks through Bayati seventh chords and cent trims. 7,560 maqam chord cases and 144 audio goldens pass; all 139 previous hashes are unchanged. Web, UI functional, storage and selected sanitizer checks pass. The included citadel.wav is a native firmware render.
This includes GHOULBOX 1.4 and Felucca 1.5.1 plus its latest sponsorship-removal maintenance commit. Application: 573,400 bytes, with 8,164 bytes free. Identity: FM-1_900.
Development preview: no physical FM-1 flashing or acoustic validation has been performed. Existing UI layout findings and the overall interrupt static-cost warning remain. NOISE's static-cost check now passes. This target omits the hidden SLICE engine; old SLICE tracks cannot play. See the included integration status for details. No upstream PR was opened.
GHOULBOX microtonal preview 1 — Arabic scales and tuned chords
GHOULBOX 1.4 and Felucca 1.5.1 combined with 40 factory scales, editable maqam alterations, per-note cent tuning, Scala import and microtonal chord generation.
Development preview — physical FM-1 validation is pending. The target firmware builds and fits flash/RAM. This is not a stable or hardware-tested release.
- 7,560 maqam chord combinations pass actual per-voice pitch checks within 0.5 cents; keyboard, MIDI input, arpeggiation and chord recording/playback pass. Dedicated ASan/UBSan checks pass.
- 139 GHOULBOX audio reference renders and 720 Felucca engine-switch comparisons pass. Project/preset migration, settings conversion, editor, Scala and simulated update/loader checks pass.
- Broad-suite findings remain: UI clipping/alignment, and static cost limits for NOISE and the audio interrupt. Test logs are included, with a passing follow-up for two corrected sample-test assumptions.
- The flash-fitting target omits the hidden SLICE engine. GURDY retains its one-voice limit; choose ANALOG, FM6 or another polyphonic engine for full chords. External MIDI output does not carry per-note tuning.
- Older firmware cannot read the new GBM2 projects/presets. Keep original backups. Older PER4 settings backups need the explicit source-aware converter before restoring.
