A sharper picture, and a preview that keeps up with it.

Better video

The camera now negotiates a true 16:9 sensor mode instead of accepting
whatever the phone offered first, encodes with a higher H.264 profile where
the hardware supports one, and derives its bitrate from the resolution and
frame rate actually in use. The result is a cleaner image in Discord, Meet,
OBS and anything else reading the virtual camera — most visible on fine
detail and on motion, where the old settings smeared.

A preview that matches

The preview inside the desktop app was rebuilt from the transport up. It now
shows the same picture the virtual camera is sending, at full frame rate,
without the stutter and the delay it used to accumulate.

Updating

If you installed from the APT repository:

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

Update the phone app as well. The desktop app still works with the previous
phone release, but the camera improvements come from the phone side.
