What's new

• Zoom feels like before. Pinch and Ctrl/⌘ + scroll lay the pages out at every step again, as in 0.6: notes, handles and the space between pages keep their size while you zoom, and nothing snaps when you let go.
• Previews close in place. Figure, link, reference and citation previews fade out where they were, instead of flashing in the window's top-left corner for a moment.

Everything from 0.7.0 (fast large libraries, tags by use, covers ahead of time, half the memory on big papers) is still there. (svelte-pdf-mini 0.9.1)

Xivly v0.7.0

What's new

Xivly 0.7.0 is about speed, especially with large libraries and large papers.

• Large libraries open instantly. A library of 1,100 papers opened after a long white screen; it now opens in a fraction of a second, and switching category, searching and clearing a search take milliseconds instead of seconds. Only the cards on screen are drawn, and coming back to the app no longer reloads the whole library.
• Tags, most used first. The sidebar lists your tags by how often you use them; past the first ones, a More chip shows the rest. A tag you're filtering on always stays visible.
• Covers ready ahead of time. With the First page cover style, a paper's cover is made when you add it, and missing ones fill in while the app is idle (never while you scroll). Covers on screen come first after a fast scroll, and take less space.
• Smooth zoom. Pinch and Ctrl/⌘ + scroll zoom at full frame rate, and the spot under your fingers stays exactly in place.
• Big papers use far less memory. An image-heavy 92 MB paper used about 2 GB; now about 1 GB. Papers open faster, scroll ahead further, and reopening a paper doesn't analyze it again (references, figures, equations are kept).

What's new

• Linux: highlights show again. WebKitGTK drew the page over highlights (and the page tint); they now show as on macOS, with the text dark on top (svelte-pdf-mini 0.8.1).
• Crisp selection rings on 1x screens. The ring around the selected color (toolbar, menus, popovers) is round and even instead of lopsided on standard-density displays; Retina is unchanged.
• Softer page tint by default. Pages take 20% of the category color instead of 50% (Settings › Page look › Tint strength). If you moved the slider yourself, your setting is kept.
• No tooltip on sidebar tags. The tag chips say what they do.
