@github-actions github-actions released this 08 Oct 14:01

R181, test build for the Sigma fp, firmware 5.02 (not the fp L). RAM only: nothing is flashed.

Not confirmed on a camera yet. R168 stays the recommended build until this one is. R181 replaces the test build R179, whose fix did not take effect.

R181 is R168 plus two things:

  • Shutter angle fixed. With the shutter set as an angle, 23.976, 24, 25 and 48 fps used the wrong shutter time (180° gave 1/60 at 24 and 25 fps, 1/100 at 48), and a half-press of the shutter button during a take made the exposure jump to the right one. The angle is now converted with the real frame rate, in live view and in clips: 180° gives 1/48, 1/48, 1/50 and 1/96, and a half-press changes nothing. Expect the picture to be about 20 to 25 % brighter than before at 24 and 25 fps in angle mode: that is the correct exposure. Shutter speed mode and the other frame rates are unchanged.
  • In-camera playback of the mod's clips. Clips now show as a picture in their own shape instead of noise, with pause and frame step. Frames that are stored compressed are skipped (the last good frame is held), so clips recorded to an SSD play at about half their frame rate and clips recorded to a card show their first frame only. While a clip plays the overlay is hidden; it returns on pause. The single view shows the clip's real resolution.

To test the angle fix: shutter angle 180°, record a few seconds at 25, 24 or 23.976 and at 48 fps, and half-press the shutter button a few times during the take. The brightness should not change.

Install: unzip, copy FPOG.BIN, AutoRun.txt and BOOT.BIN to the root of the SD card, boot in CINE and wait for the crop factor and ratio in the top bar.
Uninstall: delete the three files.

Unofficial, no warranty; see the fine print in the README.

R179

@github-actions github-actions released this 08 Oct 11:43

R179, test build for the Sigma fp, firmware 5.02 (not the fp L). RAM only: nothing is flashed.

Not tested on a camera yet. R168 stays the recommended build until this one is confirmed.

R179 is R168 plus one fix:

  • Fixed: exposure step at the start of a clip in shutter angle mode. With the shutter set as an angle, a clip could start at the wrong shutter time and jump to the right one after a second or two (seen at 25 fps, 180°: 1/60 for the first 42 frames, then 1/50). The angle is now applied from the first frame, as a shutter speed already was.

To test: shutter angle 180°, record a few seconds at 23.976, 24, 25 and 29.97, and check that the brightness does not change during the first two seconds. Shutter speed mode should behave as in R168.

R168

@github-actions github-actions released this 07 Oct 21:12

R168 for the Sigma fp, firmware 5.02 (not the fp L). RAM only: nothing is flashed.

Replaces R166. What changed:

  • Fixed: a bright line at 23.976 fps. In R166, with a shutter faster than about 1/40, every 23.976 frame had one bright horizontal line on bright areas. If you shot 23.976 with R166, check your footage. 24, 25, 29.97 and the other rates were not affected.
  • MEDIA is now DATA: the tile shows the estimated data rate, with FAST (SSD), REGULAR (v90), MEDIUM (v60) or SLOW (v30) underneath.

CINE is a raw configurator: ratio (3:2, 16:9, 2:1) × crop (1.0x to 2.8x) × frame rate (23.976 to 119.88) × data target, always lossless-compressed 12-bit CinemaDNG, with gyro data in every frame. Every mode is listed in the README; the full list of changes is in the changelog.

@github-actions github-actions released this 07 Oct 09:25

R166 for the Sigma fp, firmware 5.02 (not the fp L). RAM only: nothing is flashed.

CINE becomes a raw configurator: ratio (3:2, 16:9, 2:1) × crop (1.0x to 2.8x) × frame rate (23.976 to 119.88) × media (SSD, v90, v60, v30), always lossless-compressed 12-bit CinemaDNG, with gyro data in every frame. Every mode is listed in the README; what changed since R120 is in the changelog.

R120

@github-actions github-actions released this 07 Oct 09:25

R120: the first public release (2026-10-02). Six named modes (UHD, XQ, HQ, MQ, LQ, S16), a 12 / 14-bit choice, lossless compression as a switch, gyro data in every frame, STILL native.

Superseded by R166. Sigma fp, firmware 5.02 only.

Install: unzip, copy FPOG.BIN, AutoRun.txt and BOOT.BIN to the root of the SD card.
