Bug reports and known issues on GitHub
Please test:
- Bug reports: Press the left-side Fn button and DISP/BACK together to capture a bug report. You can upload reports by connecting your camera to this website over USB while the bug report screen is open, or later from your SD card. (It’s supposed to work!)
- F-Log movie recording: Enable SHOOTING MENU > MOVIE SET-UP > F-Log RECORDING > ON. Check whether recorded movies work correctly as F-Log in your color grading workflow. (I don’t know anything about video.)
- Touch input on menu screens: Report a bug if anything bothers you or if a screen or menu item doesn't respond to touch.
- Unlocked controls: Try binding different actions to the shutter speed dial, EV dial, AUTO/MANUAL switch, etc. For example, try turning your exposure dial into an aspect ratio dial!
- HIGHLIGHT metering: Enable SHOOTING MENU > PHOTOMETRY > HIGHLIGHT. This mode is adapted from the Ricoh GR III. Compare it with MULTI metering and stock firmware in bright scenes.
- Snap focus: In MF, tap AE-L/AF-L to jump the lens to a saved distance (1 m by default), hold it for the usual instant AF, or double-tap to save a new distance.
- Features for RAW shooters who like to ETTR (expose to the right): Try RAW HIGHLIGHT metering (SHOOTING MENU > PHOTOMETRY > RAW HIGHLIGHT, with IMAGE QUALITY set to a RAW option) and assign RAW VIEW to a Fn button (SET-UP > BUTTON/DIAL SETTING > FUNCTION (Fn) SETTING > a button > RAW VIEW). (I don’t shoot RAW or edit photos, so it's hard to tell if I did a good job with these.)
What's new
- Faster menus. Film simulation scrolling is about 4× cheaper, and themed
menus no longer redraw unchanged text. - HIGHLIGHT metering now previews in live view, not only after a half-press.
- F-Log movies are tagged as F-Log in their metadata.
- Touch input no longer stops responding after using the tab bar with the D-pad.
Known issues
- Unlocked controls are untested on a real camera.
- CUPERTINO and X100VI menus take longer to draw than DEFAULT.
- HIGHLIGHT metering can make live view alternate between two exposures on some bright-window scenes.
- In custom menu themes, a popup can show one value outside its list.
- In the X100VI menu theme, the BACK hint sits in the center of the bottom row instead of the bottom left.
