v4.28.2
One split, and whoever paid
- One split, in one place: split a bill with your household from the transaction's own Split, and remove it there; it stays removed. Arth no longer splits anything by itself. Shared with Home is now one switch: whether the household sees a transaction.
- Paid with someone else's card: record that your partner paid, and their phone finds the matching transaction on their card (or asks which account) and splits it, so their card, budget and Hisaab all agree.
- Details in Hisaab: entries from your household show the merchant and category, not just an amount.
- Together, tidier: one Filter for who paid, who owes whom and category; long pickers like category mapping scroll and have search. Monthly totals of personal spending are gone.
- New versions (Android): Arth tells you when an update is out, from the Play Store or GitHub, wherever you installed it from. Turn it off in Settings.
- Back on every screen: the Hisaab ledger keeps its back and Home buttons on iPhone.
Install Arth-4.28.2.apk on Android (arm64). Your data stays when you update. Update both phones in a household: the new split behaviour needs both on 4.28.2.
v4.28.1
Clearer about what's shared
- Privacy, in plain words: the welcome screen and Help now explain households: nothing is shared unless you join one, and what you share is locked so only your household can read it. Privacy policy: Households
Everything else is as in 4.28.0.
Install Arth-4.28.1.apk on Android (arm64). Your data stays when you update.
v4.28.0
Money, together
- Households: share spending with your partner or family, up to 5 people. Invite with a QR code or a link; each of you keeps your own Arth and chooses what to share.
- Bills split themselves: rent, groceries and other household spends are shared and split as you approve them. Mark any transaction shared or personal, split equally, pay it all, or set your own share.
- Together: what you spent together this month, by person and by category, right from Home. Tap any total for its transactions, and filter by who, what or who owes whom.
- Their categories, your way: when someone files a bill under a category you don't have, map it to one of yours or create it.
- Hisaab on both phones: your share of their bills lands in your Hisaab and your budget by itself, settle-ups show on both sides, and Arth tells you when both phones agree.
- Plan together: agree a household budget, and save towards shared goals from your own investment buckets.
- Private by design: what you share is locked on your phone before it leaves; Arth's relay can't read it and deletes it once everyone has it. Privacy policy: Households
Also: back and Home buttons on every screen (iPhone had no way back from some), and Arth for iPhone built from this release now carries the same version, 4.28.0.
Install Arth-4.28.0.apk on Android (arm64). Your data stays when you update.
v4.27.0
What's new
Arth on your home screen
- Three new widgets: what's left of this month's budget and whether you're on pace, how many transactions are waiting, and the newest ones to review.
- Approve from the home screen: tick or cross new transactions on the large widget without opening Arth.
- Add in one tap: an expense, by voice, or from a picture, straight from the widget.
- Private when you want: with Hide amounts on, the widgets hide amounts too, and with the app lock on, approving waits until you unlock.
Long-press your home screen, then Widgets, then Arth to add them. The old Arth summary widget turns into the new "this month" widget on its own.
v4.26.2
Behind the scenes
- Updated build tools and fixes that let Arth be built for iPhone with the latest Xcode. Nothing changes in how Arth works on Android.
v4.26.1
Dates read right
- Dates with the month written out, like "24 October 2026" on PhonePe receipts, are read from pictures now, and you can link them to Date / time.
- Tab names fit: "Transactions" no longer gets cut short on smaller screens.
- No false alarm: Home no longer says "Over Budget" before you've set a budget.
v4.26.0
Budget numbers you can follow
- See how a total adds up: Budget lists and the monthly summary show what you paid, others' share of split bills, refunds and what counts as yours. Split payments say what your share was.
- Refunds count everywhere: a category's total and list on the Budget tab take off linked refunds, the same as its bar.
- Spending Split, redrawn: unavoidable, discretionary and "not classified yet". Tap a group for its categories, a category for its transactions, and Select to mark many at once.
- Flexible spend replaces the unavoidable ratio in the monthly summary.
- New filters: transactions with no category, payment mode, account, tags or merchant, or not classified yet.
- Catch Up totals add up: approvals on the edit screen count, and split bills show your share of what was paid.
- Investment buckets can be deleted again; the confirmation lists what's linked.
Fixed
- "Database Init Failed" and "Couldn't save / load expense" errors.
- Sharing a payment screenshot (e.g. from Amazon Pay) while Arth is open now opens it straight away.
- A crash when Arth was started by a share or notification while starting up slowly.
v4.25.0
What's new
- The ₹ sign is read correctly: the text reader used to read ₹ as 7 (₹345 became 7345). Arth now checks that character in the picture and fixes it.
- Pick just the words you need: when a shop name and the amount share a line, tap the line and choose the words that make each field. Templates remember the positions, so longer or shorter names still split correctly.
- Correct any value under "What it found" before saving (for that transaction only).
- Field tags sit above the linked text instead of covering it.
- Add Transfer opens the same form as Add Expense and Add Credit, on Transactions and in an account's ledger, with a Swap button for money coming in. Demat transfers still ask whether the money went to cash or holdings.
- The account list names every account type (demat, investment, pension and FD were shown as "Wallet").
- Fixed: voice entry on Home and voice search on Transactions (the microphone permission had been removed in 4.23.0).
- Devices without a microphone can install Arth.
v4.24.0
What's new
- Link the text to fields: if Arth misses something in a payment picture, tap the text on the picture and say what it is (amount, who was paid, date, reference…). It fills in the transaction straight away.
- Save it as a template: tick one box and Arth reads pictures like it the same way from then on.
- Edit your templates: Settings → Transaction messages → Picture templates. Add a template, rename one, change what it records, re-link or remove fields, teach it again with a new picture, or delete it.
- Fixed: reading a picture could fail with a database error ("NativeDatabase.prepareAsync … NullPointerException") on some phones.
v4.23.1
What's new
- Arth on tablets: Arth now installs on Wi-Fi tablets without a SIM, like the Galaxy Tab. Everything works except reading SMS, since there are none; add transactions by hand or from a picture.
- No camera needed: phones and tablets without a camera can install Arth too, and pick pictures from the gallery.
