What's new

• Firmware 7.16.0 (pre-release) for early adopters. Turn on Settings → Alpha Firmware to be offered the signed 7.16.0 release. It is bundled with the app and checked against its pinned hash before it is installed. The default stays on 7.14.2, Bitcoin-only devices stay on 7.14.3, and a 7.16.0 device is never offered a downgrade.
• Zcash shielded transactions you can follow. Shield, unshield and private send now run in a dialog that shows each step: syncing your wallet (with block progress), building the proof, signing on your KeepKey (with a progress bar and what the device is doing), and broadcasting. The app stays locked until the transaction finishes, so nothing else can reach the device mid-signature.
• Your Zcash balance never reads zero while your money is on its way. Balances show shielded, transparent and pending ZEC. Pending covers shields not yet scanned, change from a send or unshield, and notes still maturing. If the app cannot read the shielded wallet yet (starting up, offline), it shows the last known balance.
• Sounds. A short sound when a transaction is sent, and a reminder chime when your KeepKey is waiting for a button press during a Zcash transaction.
• USD or ZEC amount entry on the Zcash private send page.

Fixes

• The Zcash refresh button now syncs to the latest block, and the Privacy tab no longer says "Up to date" when it is behind.
• Opening the Privacy tab now syncs once to the latest block, and value still in flight (an unscanned shield, change from a send) shows there as pending.
• Solana: a transaction with more than 32 accounts now asks for Advanced Mode on firmware 7.16 instead of being refused by the device.
• Maturing shielded ZEC is shown clearly on the Shield page.
• Certified token descriptions use the same symbol rules as firmware 7.16 (letters and digits only). Tokens whose symbol the device cannot show are signed with the device's normal review instead of failing.
• The receive sound plays only when an amount goes up, not when a price changes.
• Address book: external contacts are listed first, and the Zcash transparent send no longer offers shielded addresses.

To verify a download: shasum -a 256 <filename> (macOS/Linux) and compare with the table or SHA256SUMS.txt. Both macOS DMGs are signed by KEY HODLERS LLC and notarized by Apple.
