v4.5.0
Machines added by a Tailscale or VPN address now connect. macOS's App
Transport Security exempts only local addresses. For anything else — Tailscale's
100.x included — it demanded system trust before SiliconScope's own check of the
agent's certificate could run, and the agent's self-signed certificate can't pass
it. Every such machine failed with "An SSL error has occurred" (-1200 / -9802).
LAN machines were never affected. The connection still pins the agent's
certificate on first use, as before.
Fleet
- An NVIDIA box answers the questions asked of Apple Silicon. Besides
utilisation, VRAM, temperature and power, a Linux GPU box now reports
memory-controller utilisation (bandwidth-bound?), SM and memory clocks against
their maxima, the P-state, fan speed, NVENC / NVDEC, and why the clocks are
held down: power cap, thermal slowdown, power brake. - What runs on it. Docker containers with their restart counts — a container
that reads "running" but has restarted 400 times shows in amber. A ComfyUI
server's queue. Which process holds the VRAM, named by its script and
container rather than "python3". - A cloud server without a GPU shows its containers too (they were dropped
on a machine with no card), and a Fleet tile counts a box's containers. - Docker without root. The Linux agent reads
DOCKER_HOST, so it can use a
read-only socket proxy instead of the Docker socket, whose group is root in
all but name. The installer takesSSCOPE_USER(runs the agent as its own
no-login user) andSSCOPE_DOCKER_HOST, and on a tailnet it prints a second
pairing link with the Tailscale address. - An Intel Mac's fans and temperatures show, and "fanless" appears only when
the Mac really has no fan. Intel sensors are named where their meaning is
documented the same on every model, so the CPU die's three readings no longer
look like duplicates. The Mac agent also builds with Swift 6.1 now.
(#69, tested by @dewylouis) - Synology and other older systemd (DSM 7 runs 219): the installer creates
the agent's state directory itself, so the pairing token it prints is the one
the agent uses. - A loop-mounted file image is no longer listed as a disk.
- The empty Fleet page shows the install command with a copy button, and
links to the new Fleet manual: headless Macs, GPU boxes, a
cloud server over Tailscale, changing a token, and troubleshooting by symptom. - Both agents are now 1.3.0. Update them to get the new fields; an older agent
keeps working and simply sends less.
Local AI runtimes
- LM Studio reports only what it has loaded. Its OpenAI-compatible model
list can include every downloaded model, and was being read as the loaded set.
