v1.7.0 β€” Side Panel Fix + Hallmark Redesign

Choose a tag to compare

@keshavsapra keshavsapra released this 26 Oct 05:57

What's new in v1.7.0

πŸ› Critical fixes

  • Side panel now works β€” added "side_panel": {"default_path": "popup.html"} to manifest (the missing declaration that prevented Chrome from registering the panel)
  • Panel survives locking β€” removed sidePanel.setOptions({enabled: false}) from lockAndExit(); locking now returns to the gate view instead of permanently disabling the panel
  • Chrome 116+ auto-open β€” setPanelBehavior({openPanelOnActionClick: true}) so clicking the toolbar icon opens the side panel with no extra clicks

🎨 Hallmark redesign (anti-AI-slop UI)

  • True black #0a0a0a background, amber #F59E0B accent
  • Sharp 4px geometry β€” no bubbly rounded cards
  • Monospace terminal-style password/URL inputs
  • Domain-hashed bookmark avatar colors (8-color palette)
  • No backdrop-filter: blur β€” performant in side panels
  • Snappy 100–120ms micro-animations

πŸ“¦ Installation

  1. Download SafeMark.zip and unzip
  2. Open chrome://extensions or brave://extensions
  3. Enable Developer mode
  4. Click Load unpacked β†’ select the unzipped SafeMark folder
  5. Click the shield icon β€” the vault opens as a side panel

SafeMark v1.6.3 β€” Chrome & Brave

Choose a tag to compare

@keshavsapra keshavsapra released this 26 Oct 05:26

Install

  1. Download SafeMark.zip, unzip β†’ single SafeMark-1.6.3/ folder
  2. chrome://extensions (or brave://extensions) β†’ Developer mode β†’ Remove any old Safemark β†’ Load unpacked β†’ that folder
  3. Confirm the card says 1.6.3, pin the shield, click it

What's new in v1.6.3

  • Self-diagnosing fallback β€” when the docked side panel refuses to open and the vault falls back to a browser tab, the page now shows a banner with the exact browser error and the fix (Brave: Settings β†’ Appearance β†’ Show sidebar, then click the shield again)
  • Service worker logs both panel-open attempts (windowId-open / tabId-open errors) for one-glance diagnosis
  • Same encryption & sync as ever: PBKDF2-SHA256 600k β†’ AES-256-GCM, ciphertext-only sync

SafeMark v1.6.2 β€” Chrome & Brave

Choose a tag to compare

@keshavsapra keshavsapra released this 26 Oct 05:17

Install

  1. Download SafeMark.zip and unzip it β€” you get a single SafeMark-1.6.2/ folder
  2. Open chrome://extensions (or brave://extensions) and enable Developer mode
  3. Click Load unpacked and select that SafeMark-1.6.2 folder
  4. Pin the shield icon, click it, and set your master password

Updating from a previous build: Remove the old extension first
(chrome://extensions β†’ Remove), then Load unpacked the fresh folder.
Your vault survives removal of the unpacked extension only if you keep
the profile β€” reinstalling Brave itself wipes it.

What's new in v1.6.2

  • Click can never dead-end again β€” Side Panel β†’ per-tab panel β†’ regular tab, in order, and the exact failure reason is logged to the service-worker console (extension page β†’ service worker β†’ inspect)
  • Stable download name β€” the release asset is always SafeMark.zip, homepage links never break on new versions
  • All v1.6.1 fixes included

SafeMark v1.6.1 β€” Chrome & Brave

Choose a tag to compare

@keshavsapra keshavsapra released this 25 Oct 04:53

Install

  1. Download SafeMark-1.6.1.zip and unzip it β€” you get a single SafeMark-1.6.1/ folder
  2. Open chrome://extensions (or brave://extensions) and enable Developer mode
  3. Click Load unpacked and select that SafeMark-1.6.1 folder
  4. Pin the shield icon, click it, and set your master password

Keep the folder after installing (don't delete the extracted files) β€” Chrome loads the extension
from that directory. Move it to a permanent place like Documents before loading.

What's new in v1.6.1

  • Side panel vault β€” opens docked next to your browsing; no more pop-out windows
  • Fixed: Brave builds that reject windowId in sidePanel.setOptions (the click did nothing)
  • Live tab tracking β€” the "Bookmark this page" row follows your active tab in real time
  • Packaging: zip now extracts to one clean SafeMark-1.6.1/ folder, exact asset name matches the download links
  • Encryption unchanged: PBKDF2-SHA256 (600k iterations) β†’ AES-256-GCM, ciphertext-only sync
