Second beta of Thlick, the app formerly called Clackwork: a macOS menu bar app that plays mechanical keyboard sounds as you type, in any app. Four sound profiles, global shortcuts, per-app exclusions and auto-mute during calls. Runs on macOS 13 or later, Apple silicon and Intel.

What changed since beta 1

  • The app is now called Thlick. Because the bundle identifier changed, macOS treats it as a new app: settings from the Clackwork beta do not carry over, and you will be asked for Input Monitoring again. You can delete the old Clackwork app and remove its Input Monitoring entry.
  • New sound-wave T app icon and a matching menu bar icon.
  • Landing page at https://khamkarsuraj.github.io/thlick/ and README updates.

This build is not notarized. It is signed with a development certificate for testing, so macOS will say it cannot verify the app the first time you open it. To run it:

  1. Open the DMG and drag Thlick to Applications.
  2. Open Thlick once. When macOS refuses, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway. Or right-click the app in Applications and choose Open.
  3. Grant Input Monitoring when asked. Thlick only listens for key presses so it knows when to play a sound. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere.

The public release will be notarized and will not need these steps. Please report anything odd in the issues.
