StarDroid 1.1.1
StarDroid 1.1.1
Bug fixes and interface improvements following 1.1.
- Improved AI expansion placement, island construction, base defenses, Terran
repairs, worker defense and transport loading. Detector responses use nearby
available units and leave others available elsewhere. - Fixed mouse right-click gathering/attacking and Unload with mixed empty/loaded
transport selections. - Corrected kill counts, Broodling/hallucination lifetime displays and the
Queen's redundant Parasite research option. - Fixed production portraits, rescued-unit colors, trap animations and scripted
burrowed ambushes. Includes the Dunes of Shakuras script and Assimilator
resource-display fixes. Zerg mission 3 is titled The New Dominion. - Added automatic interface-language detection from imported game text.
- Command buttons and control groups can be resized separately.
- One Smooth graphics (game + UI) option controls the battlefield, menus, HUD,
portraits and other game artwork. It defaults to ON for new installs.
Download StarDroid-1.1.1.apk and install over the existing app without
uninstalling. Game data is not included. The source ZIP is for development.
Use the same version on all multiplayer devices. Older replays require their
matching older build; existing single-player saves and settings are retained.
Targeted automated tests, compilation, signing and alignment checks passed.
Physical Android testing and full campaign playthroughs remain unverified.
Spanish detection was tested with sample text, not an actual Spanish install.
The reported Infested Terran supply double count could not be reproduced and is
not claimed fixed.

StarDroid 1.0.10 — Controls, AI and smaller caches
Gameplay fixes
- Added a single-player Invincibility toggle under Miscellaneous → Cheats. It protects your units and buildings; computer players remain vulnerable. It resets on a new game or loading a save and is unavailable in multiplayer.
- Computer Carriers and Reavers now build and replace Interceptors and Scarabs in campaigns and custom games, including heroes and captured units. Fixed a supply-planning deadlock that could prevent Carrier production.
- Fixed stale Cancel buttons on idle Drones and cancellation while workers are walking to construct a building. Cancelling an active Drone morph retains the normal refund.
Controls
- Fixed control-group taps and holds being lost to small finger movement. Empty groups can be assigned with a tap; hold to replace, tap to recall, and double tap to center. Groups show unit counts.
- The Command buttons size setting now scales control groups and their touch targets, wrapping them when needed.
- Added customizable gamepad controls in App Options and the in-game Controls menu: pointer movement, camera panning, button bindings, speeds, dead zone, precision movement and stick swapping. Imported game cursor artwork is used when available.
Smaller caches
- Compact prepared game archives instead of retaining the original CD archive size. Existing caches update automatically; new imports use the same improvement.
- Movies are prepared individually and their temporary archives are deleted after opening. Music remains cached for uninterrupted playback.
- With the tested classic files, retained content cache is about 235 MB plus maps, down from nearly 4 GB of apparent cache. Size varies with imported files. Movie startup may take a little longer; decoded picture and audio are unchanged.
- Save-file import/export is not included. Normal in-game saving/loading and Diagnostics / credits remain available.
Updating
Install StarDroid-1.0.10.apk over your existing installation. Do not uninstall first. Imported files, saves and settings are preserved, and no re-import is needed. Use build 80 on every nearby multiplayer device.
The release includes the APK, source ZIP and SHA-256 checksums. Original game data is not bundled. Source builds must rebuild both native architectures; the repository’s historical prebuilts are not the release engines.
Validation
Automated gameplay, AI, controller, cache and package checks passed, including 269 original-asset comparisons and all 17 cinematics. Signing identity, both Android architectures, 16 KiB alignment and removal of save-transfer controls were checked. Physical Android/controller testing and full campaign playthroughs remain pending.
Detailed changes and the OpenSnowstorm comparison are included in the source documentation.
StarDroid 1.0.9
Android version code 79 · Android 8.0+ · ARM64 and x86-64
Campaign fixes
- Reign of Fire: starting buildings with both rescued Drones no longer causes a false defeat. Unfinished buildings count for this mission's loss check; actual defeat and victory still work.
- Pre-placed Nydus canals: restore map-defined connections in Eye for an Eye, Vile Disruption, and To Chain the Beast. The same fix supports custom Use Map Settings maps and preserves deliberately unlinked canals.
- Campaign characters: honor imported map-specific names and correct Aldaris, DuGalle and Raszagal portraits where missions reuse other unit types, including idle and talking portraits. Stukov's dedicated portrait was checked and retained. The Insurgent's original shared vision of Aldaris is preserved.
Computer abilities
Computer-controlled casters can use combat abilities in campaigns and custom games without an active production base. Hero casters are included.
Covers Psionic Storm, EMP, Plague, Stasis, Maelstrom, Ensnare, Disruption Web, Feedback, Lockdown, Irradiate, Yamato, Broodlings, Mind Control, Parasite and Optical Flare, plus Defensive Matrix, Restoration, Dark Swarm, Consume, Stim and Cloak. Decisions respect technology, research, energy, visible targets, friendly units, pauses and scripted movement. Pending casts are protected from conflicting attack-wave orders and duplicate targeting.
Targeting and scrolling
- Previously seen enemy buildings show the red targeting flash and selection circle beneath their remembered artwork in explored fog. Unseen units and live health information stay hidden.
- The map list has brighter original arrows and a small circular scroll handle. Dragging keeps its grip through redraws; arrows, track taps and list swipes remain functional.
Brood War music — all three races
Next track now reaches four themes for Terran, Zerg and Protoss. In the supplied classic archives, the first Brood War music file contains the expansion theme followed by the original StarCraft first theme. Previously, Next skipped that embedded second theme.
The player verifies the imported audio and can jump to that theme before advancing to tracks 2 and 3. Normal automatic playback stays complete without duplicating themes. Unrecognized or missing reference files retain full-file playback. This applies to campaign, custom and nearby multiplayer battle music.
Install and compatibility
Download StarDroid-1.0.9.apk below and install it over the existing app without uninstalling. The application ID and original signing identity are unchanged, preserving imported content, settings and saves. No game files need re-importing.
- Use build 79 on every nearby multiplayer device, with matching game data.
- If an older save already contains missing Nydus connections, restart that mission. Saves made before Reign of Fire's false defeat benefit from the corrected loss check; already-defeated saves cannot undo the outcome.
- Game data is not included. Diagnostics / credits remains available; no menu repair button is added.
- SHA256SUMS.txt covers the APK and matching source ZIP.
Validation and source
Passed: 22 final campaign checks, 42 imported portrait movie variants, 21 AI abilities, 122 scrollbar checks, 1,428 protocol assertions, and all three races' four-stop music controls. APK assembly, both native architectures, original signing identity, all 41 JNI exports, unchanged permissions/assets and 16 KiB alignment were verified. Lint: 0 errors, 11 warnings. These are controlled host and package checks, not full campaign playthroughs; physical Android testing remains pending.
The source ZIP matches the release tag. Its retained native-libs/ prebuilts are from 1.0.8: rebuild both ABIs with python3 scripts/build.py before packaging; do not use --skip-engine with those old libraries. The released APK contains the rebuilt 1.0.9 libraries. Build/test records are included under validation/.

StarDroid 1.0.8
Android version code 78 · Android 8.0+ · ARM64 and x86-64
This release includes the fixes and features developed since the public 1.0.1 release.
AI transports across campaigns and custom games
- Dropships, Shuttles, and Overlords with Ventral Sacs can carry ground attack groups across disconnected terrain, including water, cliffs, and enclosed areas.
- A shared controller loads passengers within capacity, finds reachable landing areas, unloads attackers, and reuses surviving transports for additional trips.
- Scripted campaign attacks can use existing transports even without an active production town. Transport production, prerequisites, and upgrades respect normal costs and mission restrictions.
- Workers can be ferried to island expansions and resume construction after unloading.
- Transport assignments survive saves; destroyed ships release their assignments.
The fix applies across campaign missions and custom-game AI for all three races, including the original Zerg mission 4, Agent of the Swarm.
Large map ZIP imports
- Import up to 10,000 maps from a single ZIP, including
.scmand.scxfiles in nested folders. - Supports 8 GiB uncompressed per pack, 64 MiB per map, and 50,000 ZIP entries. Keep enough free storage for unpacked content and working space.
- Files stream to disk; validation and installation run in the background with progress updates.
- Identical maps are deduplicated, invalid maps are rejected individually, and map labels and sorting are cached.
- Import validation is isolated from the running game engine. The separate nearby multiplayer map-transfer limit is unchanged.
Larvae selection and morphing
Both options are under Game Menu → Options → Touch Controls → Selection settings.
- Original larvae selection — on by default: Select Larvae chooses up to three larvae belonging to the selected Hatchery, Lair, or Hive. Turn it off to select larvae across multiple buildings.
- One larva morph per press — optional, off by default: each command-button press or hotkey morphs one selected larva, including rapid presses. Remaining larvae keep their morph commands after the first becomes an egg. One larva still produces two Zerglings or two Scourge. Other unit and building morphs retain their normal behavior.
Campaign objects and uninterrupted dialogue
- Fixed worker pickup of campaign objects, including the Psi Emitter in Brood War Zerg's Reign of Fire.
- Covers SCVs, Drones, and Probes carrying the Psi Emitter, Young Chrysalis, Data Disk, Khaydarin Crystal, Uraj Crystal, and Khalis Crystal. Carried objects survive save/load and drop when their carrier dies.
- Mission dialogue and effects use separate playback channels, preventing effects from replacing an active transmission.
- Overlapping transmissions queue, subtitles stay with their speech, and briefings wait for recordings to finish. Pending dialogue is retained in saves.
- Ordinary sound effects cannot evict an active unit voice.
Languages, original menus, and widescreen
- Choose English, Русский, Deutsch, Español, or Français under App Options → Interface language. These choices translate the port's menus, settings, common messages, and interface labels. Original campaign text, unit names, and recorded speech follow the imported game data.
- Added Russian game-data and original bitmap-font support, including corrected Cyrillic decoding and font transparency.
- Corrected handling of installer-encrypted fonts in StarDat.mpq, plus compressed/encrypted archive entries used by supported classic installations.
- Normal game-file imports apply the menu/font fixes automatically. Duplicate download suffixes such as
(1)are accepted. Missing glyphs fall back individually while readable original glyphs are retained. - Menu artwork and labels recover more reliably. Menus stay clean, while Show Credits → Diagnostics / credits and Copy remain available.
- Options → Video Options → Widescreen offers Off, On, and + over camera area. The last option extends the game display into the phone's camera-cutout area; App Options retains safe margins.
Install and compatibility
Download StarDroid-1.0.8.apk below and install it over the existing app without uninstalling. It uses the same application ID and signing certificate as the previous distributed APK, preserving imported files, maps, saves, and settings. Existing imports need no repair action or reimport for this update.
- Use build 78 on every nearby multiplayer device, with matching game data.
- Existing save schemas 1–3 remain readable. New schema-4 saves require this version or newer. Previously retired external-bot saves remain unsupported.
- Game data is not included. Import your own classic StarCraft and Brood War files. The source ZIP is for development, not installation.
- SHA256SUMS.txt contains the hashes of the APK and source ZIP.
Validation
Automated checks cover 2,501 distinct maps, all three transport types in campaign and custom-game scenarios, repeated airlift trips, island-worker construction, transport save/load and loss handling, larvae command timing, campaign-object pickup, speech isolation, language/font layouts, save compatibility, and nearby protocol behavior.
All 64 campaign maps passed load and short simulation checks, with 144 computer-owner restriction checks. The original Agent of the Swarm scenario ran for 18,000 simulation frames, recording 31 ground-unit load events and 21 unload events. These are bounded regression tests, not full campaign playthroughs.
Release assembly and lint passed (0 errors, 11 warnings). Signing, both native architectures, and 16 KiB alignment were verified. Physical Android installation, touch, audio, camera-cutout, and multiplayer-radio testing remain pending. Detailed reports are included in the source ZIP.

StarDroid 1.0.1
Android version code 71 · Android 8.0+ · ARM64 and x86-64
Change
Minimap hold issues orders is now off by default. Fresh settings, missing saved settings, and control presets use the new default. Minimap taps and drags still move the camera. You can enable hold-to-order under Menu → Options → Touch Controls → Camera settings.
Existing saved choices are preserved when updating. If you previously had this option enabled, turn it off in Camera settings to use the new default on that installation.
This update changes the default and app version only; the engine, native libraries, game assets, and other control defaults are unchanged.
Install
Download StarDroid-1.0.1.apk from the release assets and install it over version 1.0 without uninstalling. The APK uses the same application ID and signing identity so imported game files, saves, and settings are preserved.
Game data is not included. New players should follow the installation guide. The source ZIP is for development. Release assets include SHA256SUMS.txt for download verification.
Validation
Release assembly and lint passed (0 errors, 10 warnings), along with 14 preference checks. The signing identity matches version 1.0, and all 76 native-library and asset entries are unchanged. Physical-device testing was not performed for this update.

Testing and downloads
The supplied build has recorded automated regression checks, including guarded-buffer and AddressSanitizer checks for renderer fixes. Broader physical-device testing is still needed for installation, touch/audio behavior, radio interoperability, and full campaign playthroughs. Post-fix device play and a separate reported Vivo app closure remain unconfirmed. Replay loading/export, internet matchmaking, host migration, and mid-match reconnect are not supported.
Download SHA256SUMS.txt to verify the APK and supplied source archive. See the repository's validation record for detailed coverage and limitations.
