Engine floor moves to kglite 0.17.9, covering two same-day upstream
releases: 0.17.8 (the Obsidian vault format) and 0.17.9 (the vault structure
profile). Both land almost entirely on dialect="obsidian", which codingest
never selects, but they reshaped the kglite::okf types the documentation
pass builds on — BuildOptions gained a Profile and lost its never-read embed flag, and walk::DiscoveredFile gained size / mtime — so this is
the first engine bump since 0.16.x that required a source change. The docs
pass now constructs its options through BuildOptions::for_dialect, which
carries the dialect's profile and keeps a future field at its dialect
default.
One upstream parser fix reaches a :Doc title. A markdown line starting
with # is read as a heading only when one to six # are followed by a
space, a tab, or the line end, so an inline-tag line such as #project see …
is no longer taken for an # H1 and no longer supplies the fallback title of
a doc that has no frontmatter title. Everything else the two releases
changed in the parser is gated on the vault profile, which dialect="okf"
leaves entirely off. Every frozen golden digest is byte-identical across the
move and no golden was regenerated.
The embedded MCP server bundles kglite's code-graph skills only where the
graph carries Function / Class nodes — which is exactly a codingest
graph, so the skills an agent reaches through codingest-mcp are unchanged.
What moves is the per-session skill budget upstream charges at resolve time;
document deployments stop paying for methodology they could never activate.
codingest's own producer layer (with_skills / with_recipes) is untouched.
Live floor declarations moved together: the Rust kglite and kglite-mcp-server requirements, Python requirement, CI wheel pin,
import-failure hint, bundled code-review skill and current README/docs
snippets now require 0.17.9. Historical release, parity and benchmark records
remain unchanged.
