ShellVibe 1.9.2
Fixed
- SFTP uploads and downloads no longer pin a CPU core. Connections now prefer
ChaCha20-Poly1305, which runs about 25 times faster in ShellVibe's SSH stack
than the AES-GCM cipher picked before, and the transfer queue redraws a few
times a second instead of for every 16 KB acknowledged. - SFTP: a symlink to a directory opens as a directory instead of in the text
editor. A failed save keeps the editor and what was typed, and deleting a
file or folder asks first. - SSH: a dead connection is now noticed; the keep-alive ping waited forever
on a half-open link. Two first connections to a new host no longer fail
with a database error after both trusted its key. - Tunnels: a forward stops when its SSH connection closes or drops, instead
of staying "Active" with its local port bound. Deleting a host stops its
running tunnels. - Terminal: broadcast keeps reaching a pane after it reconnects. A template
pane's startup runbook runs even when the workspace is switched while the
pane connects. - Sync and cloud backup: turning every backup category off no longer goes
back to backing up everything after a restart. Edits made after a
timed-out upload were reported as backed up but never uploaded. A
scheduled backup no longer starts during a restore or a vault delete, and
deleting the cloud vault no longer leaves the schedule skipping every
backup. A device whose join failed on a network error tries again. - Restore: a workspace that arrives with a restore or a sync pull shows up
without a restart, and one deleted elsewhere is no longer kept selected. A
host the backup shows without a startup snippet no longer keeps this
device's one. Importing a backup file shows the same notes and repairs as
a cloud restore. - Import: re-importing over a host no longer leaves its old port-forward
rules on other devices.Host * !github.comno longer imports github.com
as a host. - Runbooks: a step's output pattern can be cleared in the editor. A step
that hangs until the shell resets is reported as a timeout, and a runbook
whose title is a number shows an import error instead of doing nothing. - Settings: changing a setting no longer swaps the page for a spinner,
breaks slider drags or resets the scroll. A failed write restores the
stored value without undoing a newer edit. - Vault: removing the master password could, if it failed half-way, leave a
vault that rejected every password. Copying an env var after editing it
copies the new value. - Favorites: two quick taps on a star no longer leave it stuck.
- Account: a wrong password at sign-in, or signing out with a token revoked
elsewhere, no longer shows "session expired". A response that drops or
stalls mid-way is reported as a network error instead of hanging. A
corrupt cached plan no longer shows an error on every launch. - Device link: the scan screen can scan again after pairing is abandoned.
Terminal output that arrived just before a phone attached is no longer
lost. - Android: the background-session notification no longer stays up after
every session closed when the first attempt to stop it failed. - AI Access: a command ending in a
#comment no longer hangs until the
timeout. Asking again for an approved host no longer locks the agent out
of it for ten minutes. Approval dialogs keep appearing after a request
that arrived while no window was ready. Unknown methods get the standard
JSON-RPC error codes.
Security
- AI Access:
&now separates commands, soecho hi & rm -rf diris no
longer classed as read-only. - AI Access:
"password": "…"in JSON or YAML output, and quoted values
with spaces, are now masked in full. - AI Access: revoking a client, or "Deny and suspend", refuses its other
waiting prompts. "Deny and suspend" also closes the client's sessions and
grants, as revoking from Settings does. - Terminal: Cmd+V and the other paste shortcuts go through "Paste and run?"
like the context menu. - Runbooks: a secret declared on a snippet that a step runs is masked in the
run view. - Vault: on installs from before the rename to ShellVibe, a deleted secret
came back on the next read, which could bring back the plaintext vault key
after a master password was set. - Device link: removing a paired device drops its live connection.
- Sync: a stored backup whose sync key was stripped is refused instead of
making a joining device create a second key.

The Windows installer is not code-signed
There is no Windows code-signing certificate behind this release yet. Windows
shows "Windows protected your PC" with an unknown publisher. Press
More info, then Run anyway. The warning will not fade with time:
reputation accumulates against a certificate, and there is none. Verify the
checksums above before you run it.
If turning off your operating system's malware protection for an SSH client is
not a trade you want to make, which is a reasonable position, build it
yourself instead:
