First run

Model weights and the TTS server are not bundled — the reference LLM is ~17GB and machine-specific. Run brief-setup.py once. It probes this machine for LLM backends (Ollama, llama.cpp/GGUF) and TTS backends (Qwen3-TTS, Piper, eSpeak, silence), offers only the ones whose pre-flight check passes, and writes mindbroadcast.yaml.

Local-first and fail-closed: non-localhost inference endpoints require SOVEREIGN_ALLOW_EXTERNAL_INFERENCE=1, so a misconfiguration cannot become a covert cloud call.

macOS note

The app is unsigned. The first launch needs right-click → Open, or:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/MindBroadcast.app
