Update now: run cleo self-update. Stable promotion of v2026.10.21-canary.1, same source (88dde9a). Includes the backup fixes: one project-store snapshot per backup, and obsolete legacy brain/conduit snapshots are pruned once a canonical snapshot covers them.

Fixed

  • cleo hook stop no longer warns when session end finds no session to end (exit 24 or 31) (provenance: T13890)
  • cleo hook stop waits at most 20 s for session end and 5 s for ask-enforce, so it returns under Claude Code's Stop timeout (provenance: T13890)
  • while sync.push is unreleased, journal-stream and E_SYNC_DISABLED remedies name no command this build refuses: they say a pre-release build started the journal, no released CLEO can push yet, and pull, restore and verify keep working (provenance: T13851, T13856)
  • a store that reads only snapshots is no longer reported up to date while the change journal has moved past the newest snapshot (provenance: T13867)
  • concurrent first docs updates on two devices no longer wedge the second device's stream with "FOREIGN KEY constraint failed"; doc version links travel as uids (provenance: T13868)
  • session-end and pre-op snapshots write one tasks-.db per run for the unified project cleo.db; brain and conduit are covered by it instead of getting hard links that diverged under per-prefix retention (or full copies where links are unsupported); listBrainBackups and backup verify read the project snapshot, and older brain-/conduit-* files stay listed; the project cleo.db snapshot is always named tasks-*, whichever prefix the gate admitted (provenance: T13891, T13897)
  • cleo docs versions no longer lists two doc edits made within the same timestamp in random order: equal timestamps now break on the stored version number. (provenance: T13907)
  • project snapshots prune legacy brain-/conduit- files older than the oldest retained tasks-* snapshot, so links left from before the unified snapshot no longer pin rotated-out snapshots on disk (provenance: T13910)
  • verify --run proves minCount from the JSON report vitest 5 writes under the package it ran in (provenance: T13874)
