@robertdevore robertdevore released this 21 Oct 23:08

Maintenance release with patched Node.js requirements, dependency updates, clearer onboarding and roadmap documentation, and reliable secret-response timeout regression coverage.

The full local suite passed with 246 passing tests and seven documented optional skips; contribution demos, Cloudflare adapter tests, lint and dependency audit also passed. Hosted CI passed its deterministic checks, live PostgreSQL fleet gate and two-container writer failover gate.

Requires a supported patched Node branch: 22.23.4+, 24.22.1+, or 26.12.1+. This remains an experimental self-hosted 0.x release with the existing deployment and operational limitations. Install through Git and npm; no npm package or Kennel package is published.

@robertdevore robertdevore released this 14 Oct 15:43

Source connects Git changes to their tasks, agent sessions, evidence and review decisions. v0.1.0 is the first public release, under the MIT license.

Included

  • Self-hosted Node.js server, browser UI, CLI and capability-scoped HTTP/Git access.
  • Work → Session → Change → Evidence → Decision → Canonical Git lifecycle.
  • Concurrent contribution demo with stale-update rejection, conflict recovery and reviewed promotion.
  • Cloudflare Worker/Artifacts integration with expected-tip checks and recovery after a lost push acknowledgment.
  • PostgreSQL concurrency/data-integrity fixes and regression coverage for authorization and resource boundaries.

Try it

Requires Node.js 22, npm and Git:

git clone --branch v0.1.0 https://github.com/kujolang/source.git
cd source
npm ci
npm run demo:contest -- --trace

The local demo requires no Cloudflare account or model API key. Use the printed run directory with npm run demo:serve -- .contest-demo/run-XXXXXX to inspect it at http://127.0.0.1:8787; login details are in that run's local operator.json.

Verification and scope

The reviewed implementation passed 245 default tests, 19 PostgreSQL checks, 5,000 successful HTTP requests, container builds and two-container writer failover. Eight default-suite skips concern PostgreSQL gates run separately and optional sibling fixtures.

This is an experimental 0.x release, not a production-readiness certification. Exposed deployments require the documented PostgreSQL, shared Git storage, TLS and writer controls. Synchronous PostgreSQL maintenance is not atomic across records, and handler timeout does not guarantee cancellation. Operators upgrading older deployments should review historical credential and evidence records as described in the audit.

Install through Git and npm. Source is not a published npm package or a Kennel-installable Kujo package. GitHub's source archives contain the release; no standalone executable is claimed.

Public discovery

Source uses Git and npm; Kennel installation does not apply.
