Mosoo v0.4.0 is an Alpha minor release centered on direct, durable Project Sessions. It adds execution without a pre-created Agent, unifies Session isolation, and fixes checkpoint, startup, provider-error, and Skill provisioning failures.

Highlights

  • Run directly from a Project. The v2 API accepts a Project key and inline harness, provider, model, and instructions, or an optional saved Agent preset. Upload files, start work, and continue through one stable Thread/Session ID without first creating or publishing an Agent. Inline and preset configuration are mutually exclusive. Existing v1 routes retain published configuration selection and their end-user identity contract. #642
  • One isolated execution model. Each new Session owns its execution environment and freezes its admitted configuration and native identity. Formal/API Sessions have no recurring inactivity deadline; explicitly enrolled Cloud debug Previews use a separate 30-day policy. Active Pet/Cattle choices and the shared Agent terminal are retired. #642
  • Preserve durable work and report outcomes accurately. Successful Runs require committed checkpoints. Recovery retains checkpoints, retries accepted receipts and Driver finalization, and repairs terminal events. ACP tool-title conflicts and content refusals receive explicit handling. #624, #630, #644, #647, #648, #649
  • More targeted runtime provisioning. Runtime-specific sandbox images and bounded cold-start recovery are available. Preview reconnects no longer wake idle execution merely to observe it. This release makes no production latency claim. #625, #641, #646
  • Configured Skills survive D1 statement limits. Skill snapshots are written in bounded statements within one atomic batch, fixing the startup failure seen with 25 Skills while preserving retry semantics. Unsupported built-in tool restrictions are rejected before admission. #645, #653
  • Console and provider diagnostics. Long Agent names no longer displace header tabs, and provider capability rejections and Run failure messages are surfaced more clearly. #623, #632, #647

Breaking changes and upgrade notes

  • Active Pet/Cattle fields and behavior are removed from product models, manifests, GraphQL, and v2 summaries. The v1 adapter retains historical Session labels. Integrations consuming the removed fields or shared Agent terminal must be updated.
  • The pinned Driver is 6be35bad888462d6998c06aac7f215b4cf3406f2, using protocol 6. Earlier boot/control protocols are rejected. Upgrade the API and Driver as a matched set, with an admission barrier and drained existing connections; do not assume that new handshakes protect already-connected old Drivers.
  • D1 migrations 0015–0017 are appended since v0.3.1; established migration SQL and snapshots are unchanged. They add sandbox namespace routing, the historical Run-budget table, and nullable Agent provenance. Migration 0017 rewrites association columns and rebuilds the derived daily usage rollup. Apply it only with explicit production approval, a verified backup/restore, and a compatible rollback plan. This release remains BYOK; the retained budget schema does not introduce commercial billing or per-turn monetary caps.
  • Existing shared Sessions require the documented, bounded conversion procedure before the final product is admitted. Preserve Session IDs, history, files, frozen configuration, and native continuation. Preview enrollment and legacy read-only treatment have separate approval and recovery requirements. After admitting direct Sessions, an Agent-required build is not a valid rollback target.
  • Runtime image rollout must preserve each existing sandbox's recorded namespace and all required bindings. Follow the production deployment runbook and Session isolation transition for sequencing and rollback constraints.

Release scope and verification

This GitHub Release publishes the source tag at b0bf041d955e71b24ff19fd72cf015429308d25b. Creating it does not deploy Workers, apply D1 migrations, or release the companion CLI or documentation repositories.

The release tree (4644e07cb09153f0782b8b6a448de8f1693df13a) exactly matches both PR #653's head and the actual merge commit checked by the successful Linux Repository check. That gate covers formatting, documentation links, lint, typechecking, unit tests, GraphQL freshness, and Public API contract checks. No source files were changed for this release, so the full suite was not rerun locally. Production acceptance was not rerun as part of creating this source release; PR #653 records the earlier deployment and acceptance evidence for this commit.

Alpha status

Mosoo remains in active Alpha development. Product boundaries, APIs, data models, deployment methods, and management experience may change without backward-compatibility guarantees.
