Pusher deprecated some methods that are still used, so a few checks before anything blowing up would be nice: https://github.com/pusher/pusher-http-php/releases
Also, the Pusher's user authentication endpoint can use the method offered by Pusher SDK (introduced in 7.1) instead of building it ourselves.
