We-the-users are used to using mouse scroll to... wait for it... scroll! ;-)

I suggest that mouse scroll should be used for scrolling (a.k.a. panning), while zoom feature should be enabled only when a keyboard key is pressed.

Probably best to use alt key, since it has no special meaning on Windows nor on Mac. Ctrl + scroll on Mac is used by built-in Accessibility zoom on OS level. Alt + scroll is common zoom gesture in several apps.

I can also confirm the same problem. It is really rritating, when I scroll by mistake, which happens to me quite often. I would also prefer to press some key modifier first (like Alt). That would prevent scrolling by mistake and enabled scrolling only, when it is explicit intended.

AF3's controls have already been adjusted to do this, but I'll leave this here since I agree and I want to make sure it's properly addressed.

I realize this is an old issue, so apologies for the noise.

I'm lumping in crazy-fast zoom here as I think it's relevant.

I'm 👍 on the alt as that matches image editors (which we're also emulating with the space+drag to pan behavior, too).

I somehow managed to zoom way out, and I can't manage to zoom back in. Any tips for this?
