LinkML metamodel 1.12.0, the first full release since v1.11.0. It includes everything from the v1.11.1 and v1.12.0 release candidates. Every artifact is regenerated with linkml 1.12, which ships this model.
Metamodel
statusis now a plain string (#263). It wasuriorcurie, while the metamodel's own values (testing, unstable) are plain words.bibo:statusmoves fromslot_uritoclose_mappings. Existing values still validate. In generated RDF,statusis now alinkml:statusstring; see Known issues for OWL.anonymous_class_expression.is_aonly accepts class definitions (#271). The generated Python and GraphQL types narrow to match.- New
dcterms,rdfsandrdfprefixes (#254). - Clearer documentation for
key,identifierandunique_keys(#258), and for how mixins are inherited (#270).
Generated artifacts
All artifacts are regenerated, so they match meta.yaml again. Some schema changes had not been regenerated since v1.11.0 (#272, #279, #281, #284). Changes you may notice:
- JSON-LD / RDF: an explicit
class_uriis now recorded asskos:exactMatch(exact_mappings), notskos:mappingRelation(mappings) (linkml/linkml#2687).class_uriitself is unchanged. - JSON Schema: classes stay closed (
additionalProperties: false), as theextra_slotsdefault specifies (linkml/linkml#4021).UnitOfMeasurenow requires one ofucum_code,iec61360code,symbolorexact_mappings. That rule was always inunits.yaml, but this is the first time it reaches the published JSON Schema. - Python:
maximum_number_dimensionsnarrows toint | booland coerces its value, so anything else now raisesValueError(the slot hasstatus: testing). Generation timestamps are no longer embedded in the modules.
Python package
- The package now requires
linkml/linkml-runtime1.12 (#256, #284). linkml_filesbuilds correct GitHub raw and Pages URLs (#257).
Documentation
- The specification renders correctly again (#255), with fixed links and no duplicated generated pages (#268). Also adds a code-generation link and lists the Scala implementation (#269).
Known issues
- Generated OWL no longer includes element-level
statusvalues (linkml/linkml#4048). Schemas that setstatus(e.g.status: bibo:status/published) lose those annotations from OWL output. A fix is ready if this causes problems (#282); please comment on linkml/linkml#4048 if it affects you.
New contributors
Welcome @Ostrzyciel (#268), @noelmcloughlin (#265), @niegrzybkowski (#270) and @Silvanoc (#263), and thanks to everyone who contributed to this release.
