glibc not found or segmentation fault

I've created an AppImage with Ubuntu 18.04, and tried to run it on Fedora 27:
`GLIBC_2.27' not found

Building it with Ubuntu 16.04, I get on Fedora 27:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

What am I doing wrong?

@alexmyczko please provide way more information, i.e., what app, how you built it (e.g., your build script), etc. Your description is way too generic.

The binaries built are the ones from Ubuntu 16.04 and Ubuntu 18.04 (deb src package rebuild of revision 122). And the appimages are built on the Ubunut 16.04 and 18.04 with this command:

ARCH=x86_64 ./linuxdeploy-x86_64.AppImage --appdir=protracker -e /usr/bin/protracker -d /usr/share/applications/protracker.desktop -i /usr/share/icons/protracker.png --output appimage

This is a strong hint that the Fedora isn't new enough to run the AppImage, i.e., Ubuntu 18.04 is not old enough.

Building it with Ubuntu 16.04, I get on Fedora 27:

Both run fine in a Kubuntu 18.04 live ISO VM.

In a Fedora live ISO VM, neither of the applications segfaults, but there's a library loading issue (libnsl is missing). This library is on the excludelist. After

dnf install libnsl

the AppImages (both!) work fine.

The only real issue is that libnsl is not shipped by default on Fedora any more, hence we should probably update our excludelist.

You should probably rebuild your AppImages with -l /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libnsl.so.1 until the excludelist has been updated.

Can I get notified, to rebuild the appimages once the excludelist has been updated? (will i need to download the new linuxdeploy, or could i update it myself)?
