Highlights

  • MCP roots support. The MCP client now negotiates the roots capability and answers roots/list with the session workspace (working directory plus the system temp directory). Servers that honor roots — including browser automation servers — can now write files such as screenshots and traces into the workspace instead of being limited to the temp directory, so visual artifacts land where you can preview and reference them.
  • Browser guidance refreshed. The browser capability guide now covers batching multi-step flows through scripted tool calls (raw snapshots stay in the sandbox; only digests return), a full design loop (preview → screenshot → visual check → CSS inspection → iterate → designer handoff), element style inspection via get_css_styles, and context hygiene (no post-action snapshots, file paths for large outputs, paginated and filtered console/network reads).
  • Frontend/design guardrails in the main prompt. UI work now follows a short always-on discipline: avoid generic defaults, choose a deliberate visual direction, respect existing design systems, cover desktop and mobile, and verify visually before declaring done.
  • Privacy-hardened browser recommendation. The recommended browser MCP setup now redacts sensitive network headers before they reach the agent, matching the existing opt-out of usage statistics.
  • Maintenance. Workspace packages bump to 0.18.3.
