Added

  • English and Simplified Chinese UI localization with system-language detection and an English fallback.
  • English and Simplified Chinese project documentation.
  • Multi-device workspaces with independent serial actors, settings, sessions, counters, and flash locks.
  • Persistent firmware library and flash history, including firmware metadata and reflash support.
  • Windows 10/11 x86-64 support with a portable ZIP package and system tray integration.
  • macOS status item and improved serial log navigation and display.
  • Tag-triggered GitHub Releases with macOS DMG/ZIP, Windows ZIP, and SHA-256 checksums, gated on both platforms passing CI.

Changed

  • Version 1.0 uses a new device and event model; pre-1.0 JSONL broker history is not imported.
  • macOS packaging now uses locked dependencies and derives bundle versions from Cargo.toml.

Known limitations

  • macOS binaries are Apple Silicon only, ad-hoc signed, and not notarized. Windows binaries are unsigned.
  • USB camera capture is macOS-only and requires an external ffmpeg installation; recordings do not include audio.
  • Flashing requires the relevant external tools, such as espflash, esptool, or stm32flash.

Fixed

  • Fixed the Clippy check introduced by the newer stable Rust toolchain that blocked macOS and Windows CI.
  • Kept camera preview textures updated in place, detected exited preview processes, and cleaned up ffmpeg children when UARTBuddy exits.
  • Automatically discovered ffmpeg from GUI launches through common package-manager paths, environment overrides, and the login shell.
  • Made the MCP HTTP transport stateless and return 202 Accepted for notifications.
  • Enforced both entry-count and payload-size limits for serial_read_logs, with explicit pagination metadata.
  • Added serial_flash_wait and flash job IDs so agents can wait for completion without repeated polling.
  • Closed the OS serial handle before publishing disconnected state and fully reset stale connection metadata after read errors or failed reconnects.
  • Prevented multiple UARTBuddy processes from competing for the same serial device.
