libc++ can use lit.

even if you have llvm and clang installed, you do not have lit installed, though.

There is no install-lit target, neither is lit distributed separately.

It would nice if there were releases of lit along with llvm/clang/etc.

Lit is available in the python package repository. As far as I know, this is the offical way to install it for external projects.
