A series of experiments on observing the fractal properties of cumulus clouds modelled by a high-resolution large-eddy simulation (SAM; Khairoutdinov and Randall (2003)), motivated by Siebesma and Jonker (2000). We verify the fractal nature of simulated boundary-layer shallow cumulus clouds, observe the turbulent properties of the individually-tracked 4D cloud volume, and compare the results to previous satellite observations.
Results are compiled in a single document (notebook | HTML)
