en | Upgrading KeeFox

Chris Tomlinson edited this page Sep 7, 2015 · 3 revisions

Upgrading KeeFox is a two step process, unlike most Firefox addons which need just the first step.

It's simply a case of:

  1. Upgrade the KeeFox add-on (for example, using the Firefox add-on manager)
  2. Upgrade the KeePassRPC plugin.

Once you have done the first step, you should see an "Upgrade KeeFox" page appear with a button for you to click to complete the upgrade process. This button installs the correct version of the KeePassRPC plugin into your KeePass installation.

As with the initial installation, it is possible to do all of this in a more manual way if you prefer. The manual installation instructions should give you the information you need.

Sometimes upgrades from or to particular KeeFox versions only require the first step above and other times, it can be a little more complex. Those edge cases are explained separately:

Upgrading from KeeFox 1.1

Upgrading from KeeFox 1.2

Upgrading from KeeFox 1.4

OLD INFORMATION

The information in this Wiki is out of date.

It is only of interest if you are using the old add-on called KeeFox in a very old (insecure) version of Firefox or other browsers based on the old Firefox XUL technology.

Read the manual for Kee and KeeBird instead.
