ValCraft 0.15.7
ValCraft 0.15.7
Mobs stand on the Valheim ground again (and you hit what you see), dungeons can be entered, the Pointy Hat, mace-made gravel and sand, clay from sand in water, XP for Valheim kills, and Valheim's Rested in Minecraft. Protocol v27 plus three new events (80 mob offsets, 81 XP, 82 Rested).
Download
- ValCraft-Installer.exe (Windows): installs or updates everything, including the launcher.
ValCraft-Launcher.exe: the launcher. It updates itself and the mod files.valcraft-0.15.7.jar: the Minecraft mod (Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.259).ValCraft.Valheim.dll: the Valheim plugin.
Changes
- Mobs sit on the Valheim ground again. 0.15.5 drew MC mobs at their raw MC height, which sank them into Valheim's smooth terrain. They are re-seated on Valheim's ground as before, and Valheim now sends each mob's offset to Minecraft (new event
EvMobOffsets), so the crosshair and your sword pick the same shifted box you see. The Valheim stand-in already follows the drawn mesh. - Dungeons work. Your log showed the cause: the crypt doorway teleported the Valheim player inside (
Setting forced environment Crypt), but ValCraft kept pinning the player to the MC position every frame, so it popped back out 2–4 s later. Now any Valheim teleport (Player.TeleportTo) stops the follow at once:- Into a dungeon/interior (Valheim y > 3000, beyond MC's build height): Valheim plays it natively, with Valheim input, camera and HUD. The MC player waits at the entrance, and health is not synced meanwhile.
- Out again, or through a portal: once Valheim has arrived, following resumes with the same mapping and the MC player is teleported to the matching MC position.
- Pointy Hat (
HelmetPointyHat↔valcraft:pointy_hat): a 3D wizard hat when worn (brim plus a bent 4-tier cone with a gold band), with its own icon. Recipe as in Valheim: 3 deer hide + 5 coal + 1 bronze (shapeless). - Mace + cobblestone → gravel, mace + gravel → sand. The mace stays in the grid with 1 durability used. This works with every mace in the new
#valcraft:macestag (all ValCraft maces plusminecraft:mace). The tools that are kept are listed in#valcraft:keep_tools. - Sand in water becomes clay: a dropped sand item that stays about 2.5 s in water (MC water, or Valheim water while linked) turns into 4 clay balls per sand, with a splash and a sound.
- XP for Valheim kills: about 1 point per 10 max HP, times the creature level (stars). Bosses get ×5 and at least 200 (Eikthyr 250); the cap is 5000.
- Rested: Valheim's Rested shows as an MC effect "Rested" with an icon, kept in sync with its remaining time. Bonus: a little less hunger and +10% XP.
- Tests: the self-test checks the mace recipes (the mace comes back with damage 1), the pointy hat recipe, the Rested effect, and that 2 sand dropped in water become 8 clay balls. ipc-test covers the mob-offset codec and the XP formula, and the generator now keeps the deer hide first.
Notes
- The plugin and the mod must both be 0.15.7 (new events).
- The installer and launcher are unsigned, so SmartScreen may warn: click More info, then Run anyway.
ValCraft 0.15.6
ValCraft 0.15.6
Shields sit on the forearm, bows face forward, Tab cancels building, O opens the Valheim menu, deer drop deer hide, and dirt + hoe makes farmland. Protocol v27 (unchanged; build action 6 = exit build, map-toggle payload 1 = Valheim menu).
Download
- ValCraft-Installer.exe (Windows): installs or updates everything, including the launcher.
ValCraft-Launcher.exe: the launcher. It updates itself and the mod files.valcraft-0.15.6.jar: the Minecraft mod (Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.259).ValCraft.Valheim.dll: the Valheim plugin.
Changes
- Shields are real 3D models: the art is extruded 2 px thick with a handle, and they sit exactly where the vanilla shield model sits, so the vanilla transforms put them on the forearm, idle and blocking, in first and third person. In 0.15.5 the plate was offset by half a block, which made it float away from the arm and show its edge in first person. Tower shields are 14×26 px, round shields 12×22 and bucklers 12×12.
- Bows are no longer held backwards. The vanilla bow transforms are now combined with a 135° turn that maps our vertical bow art onto vanilla's diagonal layout. Before, the limbs pointed at the player. All pull stages are fixed too.
- Tab while building with the hammer cancels Valheim building (closes the piece menu and leaves placement mode) and no longer opens the Minecraft inventory.
- O opens Valheim's Esc menu (
Menu.Show). It can be rebound under Controls > ValCraft ("Valheim Menu"), and O has no vanilla binding. - Deer hide: Valheim deer hide now becomes
valcraft:deer_hidein Minecraft. Rabbit hide is still accepted, and existing item maps at the old default are migrated. New shapeless recipes swap 1 deer hide and 1 rabbit hide both ways. - Dirt + any hoe (
#minecraft:hoes) → farmland. The hoe stays in the grid with 1 durability used (new recipe typevalcraft:crafting_keep_tool). - Tests: the self-test checks the hoe recipe (the iron hoe comes back with damage 1), the hide swaps, and that all 243 recipes and their unlock advancements load. It also takes held-item screenshots. ipc-test covers the deer hide mapping and its migration.
Notes
- The installer and launcher are unsigned, so SmartScreen may warn: click More info, then Run anyway.
ValCraft 0.15.5
ValCraft 0.15.5
A batch of fixes: hidden duplicate bodies, cooking Minecraft meat on Valheim stations, buildings on Minecraft blocks that survive unloading, bow and shield animations, hammer fixes, and materials that come back to the right slot as the right item. Protocol v27 (unchanged; build action 5 = rotate back).
Download
- ValCraft-Installer.exe (Windows): installs or updates everything, including the launcher.
ValCraft-Launcher.exe: the launcher. It updates itself and the mod files.valcraft-0.15.5.jar: the Minecraft mod (Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.259).ValCraft.Valheim.dll: the Valheim plugin.
Changes
- Other linked players' Viking bodies are hidden in Valheim, since you see their Minecraft player. Mob proxy stand-ins are hidden for every client (flags are synced through the ZDO).
- Cooking: raw Minecraft beef, porkchop, chicken, rabbit, mutton, cod and salmon can go on Valheim cooking stations. What comes off is the cooked Minecraft item.
- Valheim pieces built on Minecraft blocks no longer collapse when you walk away and the blocks unload. Their support is frozen until the blocks are loaded again.
- Item pickup: dropped items within 0.35 m of your aim are picked up even when the exact ray misses them. Auto-pickup range is 3 m while linked.
- Minecraft name tags are not drawn on the captured entity meshes.
- The ValCraft hammer item (
valcraft:valheim_hammer) builds like the Valheim hammer, the same as the mace. - Shields hold and raise like vanilla shields. Bows and crossbows show the draw and charge pose (vanilla display transforms and pull/pulling/charged/blocking item properties).
- Mob hits: with the default camera mode, mobs are no longer drawn up to a block higher or lower than the Minecraft hitbox you actually swing at.
- Step height +0.5 (
valcraft:step_bonus). - The scroll wheel rotates the piece while you place. Right-click with the hammer only builds and no longer uses the station or item you are aiming at.
- Shift+right-clicking a cooking station with the hammer no longer consumes the hammer.
- Materials you hand over (crafting or building) and get back go to their original inventory slots.
- Materials come back as the item you handed in: planks come back as planks, not logs.
- Tests: ipc-test covers the returned-material ledger and the cookable meat mapping.
Notes
- The installer and launcher are unsigned, so SmartScreen may warn: click More info, then Run anyway.
ValCraft 0.15.4
ValCraft 0.15.4
Leather scraps are no longer needed for crafting: recipes use regular Minecraft leather. Protocol v27 (unchanged).
Download
- ValCraft-Installer.exe (Windows): installs or updates everything, including the launcher.
ValCraft-Launcher.exe: the launcher. It updates itself and the mod files.valcraft-0.15.4.jar: the Minecraft mod (Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.259).ValCraft.Valheim.dll: the Valheim plugin.
Changes
- The 42 ValCraft recipes that used leather scraps (rag and leather armour, capes, shields, the hammer, knives, maces and more) now take
minecraft:leather, with the same counts. Their recipe-book unlocks trigger when you pick up leather. - The leather scraps item is still in the game.
Notes
- The installer and launcher are unsigned, so SmartScreen may warn: click More info, then Run anyway.
ValCraft 0.15.3
ValCraft 0.15.3
Minecraft mobs in Valheim can now be hit where you see them, and their name tags sit above their heads. Protocol v27 (unchanged from 0.15.2).
Download
- ValCraft-Installer.exe (Windows): installs or updates everything, including the launcher.
ValCraft-Launcher.exe: the launcher. It updates itself and the mod files.valcraft-0.15.3.jar: the Minecraft mod (Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.259).ValCraft.Valheim.dll: the Valheim plugin.
Changes
- Fixed mob hitboxes and name tags: in 0.15.2, name tags and health bars still floated at the zombies' waists and hits had to go low. Each mob's hitbox, aim point and name tag now come from the size of the rendered Minecraft model, with the Minecraft bounding box only as a fallback. They also stand on the model's feet, so the name tag sits just above the head and hits land on the body.
- Debug: the log lists the computed sizes for each mob, and
[Mobs] DrawHitboxesdraws the hitboxes.
Notes
- Protocol v27, same as 0.15.2: update both sides with the launcher or the installer.
- The installer and launcher are unsigned, so SmartScreen may warn: click More info, then Run anyway.
ValCraft 0.15.2
ValCraft 0.15.2
Minecraft mobs in Valheim now have proper hitboxes, and crafting in Valheim gives you the Minecraft item. Protocol v27: Valheim and Minecraft must both be on 0.15.2. The launcher and installer update both sides for you.
Download
- ValCraft-Installer.exe (Windows): installs or updates everything, including the launcher.
ValCraft-Launcher.exe: the launcher. It updates itself and the mod files.valcraft-0.15.2.jar: the Minecraft mod (Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.259).ValCraft.Valheim.dll: the Valheim plugin.
Changes
- Fixed mob hitboxes: Minecraft mobs in Valheim were too small and short to hit (you had to aim at their legs). Each one now has a hit capsule the size of its Minecraft bounding box, centred on the body. It follows baby size, poses, sneaking, slime size and scale as they change. The placeholder's own colliders no longer steal hits, big mobs can't push or trap you, and the debug option
[Mobs] DrawHitboxesdraws the hitboxes. - Crafting in Valheim gives the Minecraft item: what you craft at any station or by hand goes to your Minecraft inventory as the ValCraft item (350 mapped weapons, tools, armour, capes, food and materials). Quality and crafter are kept and shown in the tooltip, and higher quality raises damage, armour and durability. Materials are used exactly once, and nothing is duplicated. Unmapped items stay in Valheim; if the Minecraft inventory is full, the item drops at your feet.
- Upgrades: while a crafting station is open, your ValCraft gear (main inventory, not worn armour) shows up in Valheim's upgrade tab. Upgraded items go back to Minecraft at the new quality.
- New setting:
PreferMinecraftItems(default on), also on the launcher's Settings page. Turn it off to keep crafted items in Valheim.
Notes
- Protocol v27: a 0.15.1 plugin and a 0.15.2 mod (or the other way round) won't connect. Update with the launcher or the installer.
- The installer and launcher are unsigned, so SmartScreen may warn: click More info, then Run anyway.
