Full Changelog: v2.1.1...v2.2.0

Added

  • Added custom NIC binding support for assigning interfaces to scan, web, ap_web, disabled, idle, or none.
  • Added AP hotspot web mode with hostapd, built-in DHCP, captive portal redirects, and default 172.16.0.1:80 web access.
  • Added settings and OOBE controls for configuring NIC roles and AP hotspot profile.
  • Added configurable aircraft lost/offline timeout through basic.lost_timeout and --lost-timeout.
  • Added richer interface discovery, including wireless state, driver/model metadata, IP addresses, MAC, admin state, and detected role.
  • Added platform compatibility helpers for optional POSIX user/group lookups on non-Linux hosts.

Changed

  • The fixed scan interface is now synchronized with the NIC binding scan role.
  • Runtime repair now grants hotspot-related capability support and installs both iw and hostapd.
  • Linux deployment documentation now recommends /opt/light-rid and documents hotspot dependencies.
  • Main header utility links were moved behind a compact “More” menu to reduce crowding.
  • New DJI firmware parsing now uses fixed vendor-body offsets for RID, UAS ID, aircraft position, altitude, and pilot position.
  • ODID location heading is no longer decoded from unreliable packet direction fields; heading is left for local coordinate-based derivation.

Fixed

  • Prevented new DJI Beacon vendor frames from also being interpreted as legacy ODID fragments.
  • Improved AP/captive portal behavior for common OS connectivity-check URLs.
  • Kept settings docs and example config aligned with NIC binding and lost-timeout support.

Validation

  • python -m py_compile run.py light_rid\app.py light_rid\auth_core.py light_rid\cli_app.py light_rid\common_core.py light_rid\hardware_core.py light_rid\network_binding_core.py light_rid\platform_compat.py light_rid\runtime.py light_rid\scan_core.py light_rid\web_server.py
  • Static/rendered JS syntax check: 6 checkable script blocks passed.
  • git diff --check
  • python run.py --help could not run in this Windows environment because scapy is not installed.
