10.37.0 - 2026-10-27
Ghostex 10.37.0 is out. Sessions stuck on a permission prompt now show red everywhere, Settings > Hotkeys gets a Terminal focused section, Linux gets an AppImage, remote computers get a Machine picker for agent CLIs and integrations, Claude and Codex dialogs can be answered from the chat again, and phone pairing works for phones that couldn't scan.
🔴 Waiting on you
- A session stuck on a permission prompt shows a red dot, on its row, its coordinator's crew badge, the Threads pill and the project, section, Space and computer headers, on the computer and the phone. Notifications say "Waiting for your approval", and
ghostex sessionsprints "waiting for approval". - A coordinator's crew badge reads red, then light blue, then orange, so a thread waiting on you shows ahead of working ones.
- The Threads pill shows one corner dot per state: amber while threads run, red or pink when one waits on you, overlapping when both.
⌨️ Hotkeys
- Settings > Hotkeys has a Terminal focused section, so a key can do one thing in a terminal and another everywhere else, and the same key can be set in both. Keys you changed keep working in a terminal until you set its terminal row.
- Windows and Linux: plain Ctrl keys reach the program in a terminal. In a terminal Ghostex uses Ghostty's keys (Ctrl+Shift+V pastes, Ctrl+Shift+C copies); outside a terminal your keys work as before.
- Unfocus Terminal and Focus Last Terminal (Cmd+Shift+M, Ctrl+Shift+M on Windows and Linux) take the keyboard out of a terminal and back again.
- Terminal Copy and Select All, Browser History, Reload Page and Sleep's second key can be changed in Settings, and
ghostex settings hotkeystakes--terminal. - Export Transcript has no default key, which ends its clash with Expand View Panel on Windows and Linux. Set one in Settings > Hotkeys (Handoff / Export).
💬 Chat
- Codex's questions can be answered from the chat again with Codex 0.161 and later, Skip included, and the chat no longer locks while Codex's question editor is open. Codex's "conversation open elsewhere" screen offers Continue here again.
- Claude's Ready to code card shows the whole plan and every choice, and the "We recommend compacting earlier" dialog can be answered from the chat, with Smaller and Larger for its size.
- The sign-in error card gets Reconnect, and an account whose login expired shows Needs sign-in.
- Two one-line cards in a row are always the same distance apart, on the computer and the phone.
🤖 Claude
- Claude cloud sessions open in the chat view: type the first message, then its claude.ai page appears in the chat pane. Their state and replies come from claude.ai. On the phone, a tap opens claude.ai and a long press offers Open Terminal.
- Claude is a built-in extension, off by default, that opens claude.ai over the work area from a sidebar button, with a bar to switch between your saved Claude accounts' sign-ins. Turn it on in Settings > Extensions > Store > Features.
🌐 Remote computers
- Settings > Agents and Integrations get a Machine picker that installs and updates agent CLIs, skills and tools on another computer, including Fast Computer & Browser Use and SpaceO on a remote Mac. The phone shows each computer's agent CLIs and skills on its Edit screen.
🪟 Windows
- gxserver no longer quits every few seconds after updating to 10.36.0 (#312), thanks to @DaveW001 for finding the cause.
- Hooks and skills link without Developer Mode: a refused link becomes a junction or a copy, and a failed link puts the agent's own folder back. Settings > Agents and Integrations recommend Developer Mode for a Windows machine.
- A new browser tab with glass no longer shows a stale frame while its page loads.
🐧 Linux
- Linux releases include an AppImage for x64 and ARM64: download it, make it executable and run it.
📱 On the phone
- Pairing works when the phone can't scan: Copy as text sits under Show QR on the computer, and the QR is larger, black on white and easier to scan. The phone reads every code a recent computer shows, and says when a code needs a newer app.
- Settings no longer crashes on iOS when no update is pending, and a broken Settings section shows a Try Again card instead of closing the app.
🧭 Views and pages
- Keep views loaded (Settings > General, off by default) keeps side panel views loaded across project and Space switches until their Auto Sleep time, thanks to @suatkocar.
- Closing or hiding a side panel tab selects the tab next to it, thanks to @suatkocar.
- A page's notification brings back the tab that posted it, in its own project, thanks to @suatkocar.
- Code view: arrow, Home/End and Page keys no longer type control characters into files on macOS (#326).
- Files: Annotate's copied feedback names the file's project path instead of "srcdoc" (#329).
🩹 Fixes and polish
- Ghostex no longer leaves the programs it starts behind as zombie processes (the completion sound, Open In, editors), which piled up over a long day (#334), thanks to @suatkocar.
- Codex sessions start when Superset is installed; the two tools' codex wrappers no longer call each other (#325).
- The OpenAI voice agent starts with many projects, and voice session errors reach
ghostex logs(#331). ghostex browser mcpanswers Claude Code and Codex.- Feedback's Start Agent says plainly why an agent couldn't start.
- Terminals get Ghostty's latest fixes, including a fix to its zsh integration, and Ghostex is drawn through Zed's newest Metal renderer.
- Background pages get the Browser panel's size and close with their project.
