OscarWatch Tracker 1.1.5

Welcome to version 1.1.5 of OscarWatch Tracker! This update brings a round of fixes and polish to make working amateur satellites smoother, including upgraded SSTV decoding, better soundcard handling, FT4 enhancements, and several logbook tweaks.

A big thank you to Bruce VE7PTN and Mark N8MH for supporting the project, and to IK6GZM for providing the Italian translation! Your support keeps OscarWatch moving forward.

What’s New in 1.1.5

SSTV Upgrades & Soundcard Recovery

  • Custom Save Folder: Pictures and session WAV files can now be saved to a folder chosen in SSTV Settings, keeping your system drive clear.
  • Cleaner Pictures: Added chroma smoothing to reduce colour speckle in Robot and PD modes, alongside fixes to stop Robot 36 pictures being misdetected as Robot 72.
  • Silent Audio Warnings: The receiver now warns you after 10 seconds if your selected soundcard is delivering silence, helping you spot if the wrong audio device is selected.
  • SSTV Armed Indicator: The interface now clearly shows when automatic SSTV capture is armed and waiting for your target satellite.
  • USB Soundcard Recovery: Improved handling for USB audio stalls across SSTV, FT4, pass recording, and terminal audio so the app recovers gracefully if an audio interface drops out.

FT4 Enhancements

  • CQ Block List: Added a blocked callsigns list under FT4 Settings. Stations on this list will not be auto-answered while you are calling CQ, letting your sequence run without interruption. Clicking a decode manually still lets you start a contact.
  • No-CQ Call Sign Handling: Better parsing for compound calls sent without an explicit CQ (such as SM/R1CR KP04), ensuring call signs and grid locators are recognised cleanly.

Logbook & Rig Control Tweaks

  • Edit Logged Contacts: You can now edit the UTC date, time, and uplink/downlink modes directly within logbook entries.
  • Automatic DXCC Lookup: FT4 and Terminal contacts logged live now instantly resolve and save their DXCC country details, matching manual entries.
  • Smarter Default Signal Reports: Default signal reports now correctly assign 59 for SSB, AM, and voice modes, while keeping 599 for CW and data modes.
  • IC-9700 Mode Selection: Corrected transponder modes for packet, APRS, and digipeater entries so the IC-9700 automatically selects DATA-FM.

General & Usability

  • Online Documentation: Operator help now opens directly on oscarwatch.org to ensure you always see the latest guides.
  • Support Menu: Added a direct link to Help > Support in the top menu.
  • Italian Language Support: Complete Italian UI translation added thanks to IK6GZM.
  • Stability Fixes: Resolved background crashes during satellite tracking updates and improved stability when closing the app.
