2.3.0
Release Notes
REST request controls
- Added optional EOD columns/sorting, as-reported financial statements/date sorting, daily-fundamental sorting, and exact/delisted/limited asset search.
- Added IEX history after-hours and gap filling, BOATS gap filling, bounded ticker filters for IEX/consolidated/BOATS snapshots, and crypto exchange/current-quote interval filters.
- Accepted validated positive minute/hour interval multiples and crypto/Crypto Yield day multiples while preserving existing intervals, required inputs, omitted defaults, results and the 38-tool surface.
Reliability
- Classified malformed WebSocket wire frames and invalid UTF-8 as terminal protocol failures during active and acknowledgement receives, preserving recovery after abrupt transport loss.
- Returned the actual startup state when a worker terminates before publication, retaining its handle if terminal-session pruning removes the registry entry.
- Described optional REST controls, bounds, mutually exclusive filters, and custom interval syntax in MCP tool discovery and field metadata.
- Used Tiingo's explicit comma-separated path for filtered IEX snapshots while preserving the omitted all-market route.
- Stopped reading full error-body diagnostic prefixes promptly and redacted credentials crossing the truncation boundary.
Dependencies
- Updated rustls from 0.23.45 to 0.23.46 to fix RUSTSEC-2026-0346, RUSTSEC-2026-0347, RUSTSEC-2026-0348, and RUSTSEC-2026-0349.
- Updated rmcp from 3.5.0 to 3.5.1 and tokio from 1.53.1 to 1.53.2.
Verification and documentation
- Added deterministic regressions and ignored actual-stdio REST/subscription-update cases with declared finite budgets; terminal failures, empty acknowledged streams, entitlement and skipped operations are reported separately.
- Refreshed official request-control and exclusion guidance as of 2026-10-04, including Small Exchange REST availability, deferred upstream WebSocket families and ambiguous vendor controls. These changes do not assert new live access or independent price accuracy.

- Added checks that install release artifacts and verify the installed server's version and MCP tool discovery.
- Kept Cargo, install scripts, direct binary downloads, desktop bundles, and manual MCP configuration available.
Documentation
- Added installation instructions by platform and clearer steps for configuring MCP clients.
- Updated the README and package descriptions to explain the Tiingo MCP server's stock market and financial data tools in plain language.

Release Notes
Dependencies
- Updated rustls from 0.23.43 to 0.23.45 to fix RUSTSEC-2026-0285, and replaced the yanked chacha20 0.10.1 with 0.10.2.
- Updated rmcp from 3.1.4 to 3.5.0, and replaced the deprecated
ServerInfoandClientInfoaliases withServerConfigandClientConfig. - Updated clap, rand, reqwest, and thiserror, and updated all other dependencies to their latest versions that support Rust 1.88.
Documentation
- Rewrote the README in plain language, and added steps to download, verify, and install the prebuilt release binaries. The install commands now download the latest release instead of a fixed version.

Release Notes
API surface
- Added 17 REST tools for bulk EOD refresh, lifecycle metadata, all-market IEX and batch forex quotes, consolidated equity and BOATS, funds, Search, Crypto Yield, and cross-ticker corporate actions while preserving the original 17 tool names, required inputs, omission behavior, and results; four optional
columnsfields are the only approved legacy descriptor additions. - Added four finite MCP lifecycle tools for bounded upstream IEX and consolidated-equity WebSocket subscriptions; MCP transport remains stdio.
- Documented source-dated entitlement boundaries for IEX agreement levels, consolidated and BOATS sessions, fund fees, fundamentals, corporate actions, Search, Crypto Yield, and vendor-supplied lifecycle metadata.
Data integrity and safety
- Preserved raw and adjusted EOD OHLCV plus
divCashandsplitFactorin typed bulk output, with explicit history-refresh tickers for dividends and non-unit splits. - Added bounded WebSocket queues, cursor polling, explicit data-gap failures, finite reconnect/liveness/expiry behavior, duplicate and out-of-order flags, partial-update inventory reconciliation, and cancellation-safe worker shutdown.
- Added socket-level 8-MiB frame/message limits, linear exact-size poll admission, sanitized terminal error classifications, structural upstream-ID redaction, and dependency-trace credential isolation.
Documentation and testing
- Added focused architecture, API-surface, and quality references with mechanical root-link, embedded-resource, public-count, and discovered-tool documentation checks.
- Expanded deterministic REST, RMCP, WebSocket protocol/lifecycle, cancellation, EOF, credential-redaction, consistency, and latency coverage while keeping quota-consuming live checks ignored by default.

Release Notes
Breaking changes
- Replaced the server implementation with a native Rust binary built on RMCP.
- Changed installation and launch to the direct
tiingo-mcpcommand; the legacy Python-package anduvxcontract has been deliberately removed. - Kept stdio as the MCP transport for 2.0. Streamable HTTP and WebSocket work remains a separate expansion.
Distribution
- Added cargo-dist shell and PowerShell installers plus native artifacts for Apple Silicon and Intel macOS, ARM64 and x86-64 Linux, and x86-64 Windows.
- Added target-specific MCPB desktop bundles with path-free binary configuration and secure API-key prompting.
- Added Rust 1.88, stable-toolchain, dependency-policy, native-build, version, and MCPB validation gates.
Protocol and correctness
- Preserved the 17 tools, three fixed resources, one guide template, five prompts, and compatible input schemas.
- Added structured MCP tool results while retaining the JSON text content expected by older clients.
- Corrected recoverable failures to use MCP tool-error semantics and sanitized error content.
- Bounded transient retries to three total attempts, enforced same-origin requests and an 8 MiB response limit, and redacted credentials from all errors.
- Updated crypto quotes to Tiingo's current prices route.
- Corrected stale resource facts and replaced timeless plan guarantees with source-dated capability guidance.
- Corrected stock, earnings, and forex prompts so they request supported metadata and do not infer unsupported conclusions.
