- Where the premarket and after-hours price comes from is a setting of its
own: extended_source in the config and a Pre/after hours row in the
settings screen. IEX, behind Tiingo and Alpaca's free feed, barely
trades before the open: one CoreWeave morning showed a single IEX trade
of 11 shares against 581,000 on the whole market, at a price more than
a dollar away. auto, the default, now takes the whole market for any
source that sees one exchange or none: Alpaca's consolidated feed,
15 minutes behind, when Alpaca keys are set, otherwise Yahoo. That
gives Tiingo and Finnhub a real premarket for the first time. same
keeps the source's own, alpaca and yahoo name the provider.
- A borrowed extended print now always replaces the source's own while it
covers the session under way, instead of losing to a newer-looking IEX
one. On Alpaca's IEX feed this shows the consolidated print, 15 minutes
late, where a fresher single-venue trade used to win; same brings
that back.
- Tiingo dates an extended print by the bar that traded it: its quote row
carries the time of the request, so an hour-old trade read as current.
Outside the session the price no longer moves the last candle between
refreshes either, which drew flat bars nobody traded.
- The settings screen is grouped into prices, API keys, news and look.
Each key row says what the current choices use it for, the Pre/after
hours row says what auto resolves to, and the bottom of the box
explains the row under the cursor. A short terminal drops the spacing
and the footer before the rows.
