• The Quality workflow runs in the language root (KJC-BUG-0309, #2023): in a repo whose JS app lives in a subdirectory with no package.json at the root, kj-quality.yml ran npm ci and npm test at the root and every PR failed; a hand fix was undone by the next harden, which then left the file staged and the seal refused it. harden passes the language root it already detects: the job runs there, with that root's package manager and lint script.
• kj rag query no longer reindexes the repo before answering (KJC-BUG-0304): the refresh before a query had no bound, so an index weeks old meant hundreds of files reindexed one by one while the rag-first gate stayed shut. Past rag.autoUpdate.maxFiles (25) the query answers from the index as it is and says how to bring it up to date.
• The rag-first gate lets a barrel be edited (KJC-BUG-0308): index.ts, __init__.py or mod.rs only re-export their folder, so the RAG never returns them; a hit in the barrel's own subtree now covers it.
