Minor, cut from 4.66.1. Fixes reported from the field on Python projects and on kj resume, the coder's files formatted before the quality gates, and a third-party review that judges a PR by the reviewed repo's own rules.

Added

  • The coder's files are formatted before the quality gates (KJC-TSK-1237, #2565): right after the coder, kj runs the project's formatter in write mode (ruff format, gofmt -w, vendor/bin/php-cs-fixer fix) on the files of the session only, never on changes that were pending before it. It is not a gate: a formatter that fails or is missing warns and the run goes on. Turn it off with development.format_after_coder: false.

Changed

  • kj review --third-party checks the reviewed repo's own commit convention (KJC-TSK-1238, #2263): the Conventional Commits check runs only when the repo declares a convention (a commitlint config, commitlint in package.json, or kj's commit-msg hook). A PR without test changes comes back as a question for the reviewer, not as a failure.

Fixed

  • Python commands run through uv run or poetry run when the project has uv.lock or poetry.lock (KJC-BUG-0411, #2563): pytest and ruff were looked up on the bare PATH and failed with exit 127, so no task could end green.
  • kj resume commits the work of the session it resumes (KJC-BUG-0412, #2564): the baseline of changes pending before the run is kept in the session, so files the first run wrote are no longer left out of the commit as someone else's.
  • The auto-commit header comes from the task's first paragraph (KJC-BUG-0413, #2565): a task that started with a Markdown title or ran over several paragraphs gave a header with # marks or cut mid-word; it is now the first paragraph, cleaned and cut at 72 characters on a word.
