MacShow 26.44.1

Choose a tag to compare

@mar0der mar0der released this 26 Oct 06:30

MacShow now uses calendar versions, YY.WW.X: year, week, and the release of that week. This is the first: 2026, week 44, release 1.

Install

Download MacShow.dmg below, open it, and drag MacShow to Applications. It's signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens without warnings. Needs macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.

New since 0.1.0

Live TV. 42 free channels streamed by the broadcasters themselves: Bulgarian regional channels, news (Al Jazeera, France 24, DW, Bloomberg, ABC News Live…), documentary, music, kids and sports. Add your own M3U playlists from your provider or Tvheadend, with the program guide (XMLTV): what's on now and next, favorites, and ⌘← / ⌘→ to switch channels.

Radio from around the world. Tens of thousands of stations from the free Radio Browser directory: popular, by country, by genre, or search. Favorites and recent stations, the song that's playing in the player bar and Control Center, Next and Previous to switch stations.

Sports and Documentaries. Their own sections, sorted from your Sport(s) and Documentaries folders. Sports are in tabs by kind of sport (Formula 1, Football…).

Network drives that play like local ones. Videos on a NAS read well ahead and wait for a few seconds' worth instead of stuttering, with the loaded part shown on the seek bar. Scanning a share is much faster, and the sidebar shows what it's doing: which folder, how far, which file.

Richer pages. TV shows have a backdrop, episode titles, summaries and stills, and the cast from TMDB. Click anyone in a cast to see their biography, what of theirs is in your library, and what they're known for.

Smaller things

  • A video that's opening shows its own picture, with a spinner, not the last frame of the one before.
  • Remove anything from Jump Back In with the × on its card (audiobooks too).
  • Choose which drives and network shares each section shows (Sources, in its toolbar).
  • Adult videos split into full videos and clips.
  • Agents (MCP) can delete playlists, sort videos into the new sections, and find and play radio stations and TV channels.

Fixes

  • MacShow loads quickly with a network share in the library.
  • Full-length Adult videos play again.
  • Exiting Picture in Picture keeps the video playing.
