serialize 1.17.0: ReadStream::InitializePadded for exact-sized payloads
What you get
ReadStream::InitializePaddedfor an exact-sized payload. A buffer with no eight bytes of slack past the data is copied into a destination you supply and read from there, with the slack zeroed. A destination smaller than the payload plus eight is refused in every build and nothing is copied. The destination must outlive the stream.Initializeis unchanged for buffers that already carry the slack.ReadBytescopies throughSERIALIZE_BULK_COPY, asWriteBytesalready did, so a fortified libc sees the builtin rather than a checkedmemcpy. The eight-byte read window is unchanged.- The README has an Installing section:
brew install serializeandfind_package(serialize CONFIG), or copy the header.
No wire change. Nothing else in the API moved.
