Validation error

I have used this plugin plenty of times without problems. However recently since I installed it on my Ubuntu 14.04 laptop every time I try to authenticate it tells me there is a validation error.

I am using my correct password and correct 2FA token but it keeps giving me this error. Why would this be and are there logs I could look at to see why?

Did you try to remove ~/.gist-vim at once? Or did you copy ~/.gist-vim from another environment?

same problem. I already removed ~/.gist-vim so I have to type password.

I got it to work by copying .gist-vim from another environment, but starting from scratch it wont work

Seems need to create new authorization.

@mattn I have your plugin currently on my mac, and I just copied over the .gist-vim on that to my ubuntu system, and that worked. However, I'm sure your goal is to get this working from the start. Is this an issue with Github's use of oAuth?

Hi there, I'm also running into this on Archlinux. It was working without problems a few months ago. Any workaround?

@spacepluk @mattn do you still have your .gist-vim file? I would suggest pulling the latest and adding that .gist-vim file. Not really a workaround because it assumes you're a previous user.Troubling part is that new users will face this issue still.

I wish I knew vimscript more intimately to debug this...seems relatively obtainable as a solution.

I don't have one, I swapped my hard drive recently and forgot to backup that bit.

@spacepluk that's a bummer. Looking at my .gist-vim file, it's just a generated token. I wonder if we go through the oAuth for github, we may be able to generate one ourself...
