The third build against upstream ByteRipper 0.8.5: the Windows build remembers its zoom, and the dump redraws correctly when you zoom out.

Windows

  • The zoom is remembered. The level chosen in View ▸ Zoom In / Zoom Out / Actual Size is kept and restored when the app starts again.
  • The dump redraws correctly after a zoom. Zooming out could leave the hex panes drawn one step behind, with rows of the old scale showing at the bottom and the right edge. The page now reads the new scale again after the zoom has settled and draws for that.
  • The tool and word-size buttons are set in the menu's own size (13 px, where they were 15) so they no longer stand out from the rest of the window.

Not in this release: the one-file HTML page, which is being reworked. Upstream commits after 0.8.5 are not ported yet.

Windows (ByteRipper-0.8.5-3-setup.exe installs it for the current user and starts fastest; -portable.exe and the .zip need no installation): the same app in a window of its own, x64. Help ▸ Check for Update… installs the next release from the setup. Not code-signed, so SmartScreen warns on the first launch: choose More info ▸ Run anyway.
