Config sync issue

I'm using Compose to deploy the server through Portainer, and everything is working fine except for the config file synchronization.

The Gale profile mod sync is working correctly: it's downloading and installing the correct mods from the Gale profile code. However, the config files from the Gale profile aren't being synchronized.

I've also tried importing the same Gale profile on another computer, and the config files included with the profile are definitely the ones I've configured, so i know its working fine.

Is there anything else I need to enable or configure for GALE_SYNC_CONFIGS=true to work?

There's nothing else to set - your GALE_SYNC_CONFIGS: true is fine, it's a bug in v3.8.8 (and 3.8.7). The mod list comes from /profile/<code>/meta, which answers straight away, but the configs come from /profile/<code>, which redirects (303) to Thunderstore. Odin's HTTP client has redirects switched off (http_pool.rs) and the Gale download doesnt follow them itself (gale.rs), so it gives up and carries on. Your startup log should have this warning:

Failed to sync Gale profile configs: Download error: Gale returned 303 See Other for https://gale.kesomannen.com/api/profile/<code>

Until thats fixed you can copy them in by hand. Stop the server, then extract into whatever folder you've mounted at /home/steam/valheim:

curl --fail -L -o profile.zip https://gale.kesomannen.com/api/profile/YOUR_CODE
unzip -o profile.zip 'BepInEx/config/*' -d /path/to/your/valheim/server

The container re-owns that folder when it starts, and later mod installs won't overwrite config files that already exist.
