Highlights
Changes since v0.24.0, delivered in #87:
- Fewer false “CHECK SESSION” warnings on Windows. An open Codex writer can leave its rollout's modification time looking old even while work continues. Fallback activity detection now combines file growth and owned event timestamps with modification time, so genuine observed activity can clear the uncertain warning and keep recently active sessions visible.
- Consistent plain and compressed history. Startup uses the same bounded activity window for JSONL and compressed rollouts. Real observed growth survives compression and history rebasing, while restoring identical bytes—including an unfinished tail—does not make a quiet session look newly active. Older timestamps outside the activity window cannot keep compressed sessions artificially fresh.
- Bounded, cancellable activity scanning. Startup targets the last 256 KiB and allows up to 4 MiB of overlap for a large record. Oversized, incomplete, future-dated and inherited events are treated conservatively. Compressed activity checks use a bounded circular buffer rather than adding an extra activity decode for every historical record; the full accounting baseline scan remains intact.
These shared-reader improvements benefit terminal and web Sessions. Confirmed app-server statuses and blocking approval/input signals retain their precedence; genuinely quiet open fallback sessions can still show CHECK SESSION. Token accounting and API-equivalent calculation rules are unchanged. No new dependency, on-disk history ledger or session-control action is introduced.
