First release of print3d: turn an idea, a photo or a shop listing into a sliced Bambu Studio project for a Bambu Lab X2D, with a 3D view of the part to rotate.

Highlights

  • Three ways in: describe a part, start from a reference photo, or point at a shop listing to model a replacement or fitting part.
  • Checks before slicing: the agent models the part, runs the printability checks, fixes what they flag, and slices. It reports time, grams and layers when the job is green.
  • 3D viewer: rotate the part in the browser, or in the Hermes desktop preview pane.
  • Installable tool with an MCP server, plus setup for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI.
  • Hermes Agent plugin: hermes plugins install mfranzon/print3d --enable. The server is marked untrusted, so Hermes asks before any tool that runs a script or writes files.

Requirements

uv, Blender and Bambu Studio. Set BLENDER_BIN and BAMBU_STUDIO_BIN if they are not on the default paths.
