Snapfly (preview)
Pre-releaseSnapfly 1.1.0, built from 65e6c5e on claude/chat-waits.
-
Screenshots can go into an AI chat by themselves (Settings, Line ›
Screenshots to an AI chat). They wait on the line until you open the chat,
then go in together, into the conversation open there; or at once, or
always into a new chat. They wait in the message box for Return. -
The screenshot shortcut takes an open menu as it is, a website's list
included, instead of closing it (with Accessibility). -
A website's Open window, asking for a file, brings the line down with an
arrow to it. Drag a photo in, or click its paper plane, and the photo is
chosen there, covered, ready to attach. -
Covering reads more languages: labels like Beneficiario, Favorecido,
Müşteri, Bénéficiaire, DNI, CPF and T.C. Kimlik No, verification codes
and dates of birth in Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish and Arabic, Turkish and
Arabic streets, and the writers' names in a chat. A name from an email's
To or From line is covered again in its greeting and signature, Arabic
names too, and a Turkish or Arabic address inside a message. A German tax
ID is covered by its shape and check digit, with or without a colon
after its name. A chat's writers are covered after the date and time an
export puts before them, and the people in a bank statement's bookings.
Every build now measures covering on 110 made-up documents in seven
languages, among them a German tax notice, tenancy agreement, bank
statement, chat export, CV and order confirmation. -
What an invoice charges for is no longer covered as a person's name: an
item like "Druckpatronen Schwarz", with its price on its row, under a
column headed Beschreibung, Artikel or Item, stays readable and is only
offered to cover. A column of people, like Teilnehmer, stays covered. -
On the Mac, opening Snapfly again while it runs opens Settings, and when
the menu bar does not show its icon, Settings opens by itself at launch
and says where to allow it (on macOS 26, System Settings › Menu Bar), so
Snapfly can always be found. -
On the iPhone, what can't be undone asks first: Clear beside the scanned
pages, Delete on a recent document, and Turn Off for faster picture
processing, which deletes everything prepared. -
On the iPhone, a scanned invoice or letter that asks to be paid by a day
still to come offers a payment reminder at the end of Save and Share:
the calendar's own form opens filled in, the day, the amount, the company
and the invoice's number as the page writes them, with an alert the day
before. It is read on the iPhone, never for a document stamped paid or
paid by direct debit, and Snapfly needs no access to your calendar. -
On the iPhone, the app says more when something doesn't work: a camera
that cannot scan says why, a photo coming from iCloud shows "Opening…",
See All says why a search or With Private Details finds nothing yet and
opens More › Detection to change it, the PDF's size shows a dash instead
of spinning for ever, and after a failure the editor's apps, Copy and
Send to Mac are dimmed instead of doing nothing. The introduction now
names More instead of Settings. -
On the iPhone, a scan's text can leave as a Word document: under Text in
Save and Share, choose Word Document, and Save or Share make a .docx to
change in Word or Pages, its headings, an address's lines and its tables
kept as they are, every covered place a black bar. -
On the iPhone, easier to read and to tap: orange words are a deeper
orange that reads on light grounds, small buttons (Try Again, Don't Wait,
the selected place's Cover, Delete and Done, Clean Up, Revert and its
cross) take a finger's 44 pt, what went wrong in the status capsule shows
whole instead of being cut, the bars that slide up only fade with Reduce
Motion, and the arrows for next and on point the right way in Arabic. -
On the iPhone, See All shows every screenshot, not only the newest 90, so
older ones can be found, searched for and filtered too. -
On the iPhone, All Documents on the Scan tab searches every document:
type words, and the documents with a page holding them stay, each
saying on which pages and how often. They are read once on the iPhone,
a PDF's own text or what Vision reads on a scanned page, and the words
never leave it. -
On the iPhone, where Snapfly may see only the photos you chose, the Photos
tab says so and offers Change Allowed Photos…, since a new screenshot
shows only once you add it; it no longer asks you to take one. -
On the iPhone, with Photos access off, Protected asks for it as the Photos
tab does, instead of saying nothing was protected, and More › Help ›
Introduction no longer waits unseen to show up later. -
On the iPhone, iOS's questions for Photos and the camera, and the
Shortcuts actions' descriptions, short name and Siri phrases, are in all
13 languages, not only in English. -
On the Mac, Copy in a History photo's menu copies it as it would leave
the line, covered as you chose under Privacy, never the original. On
History's Workspace page, the item that copies the files as they are is
now called Copy Original. -
On the Mac, what you hid by hand and what you drew stay with a photo that
leaves the line, so it leaves covered as before from the History's Copy,
Send Again and Hang on the line, and from a note's "put it back"; they
were forgotten the moment it left. They go to the Trash with it. -
On the Mac, your details and rules under Always Hide are covered whatever
is checked under Privacy, as Always Hide says, also with Hide private
details off in the menu bar or every kind unchecked; before, they then
left uncovered. The texts about your rules now point to Settings › Always
Hide instead of Privacy. -
On the Mac, "covered" is said only when something was: Cover Files and a
watched folder count only the copies with something covered and name
those with nothing to cover, and Send Again and Hide Private Details'
Copy say "Nothing to cover was found" otherwise. Clear History says it
empties the Sent list too. -
On the Mac, Show Me How says why when the line has nothing for it to
show, like a newest photo with nothing covered or a screen recording, and
Settings stays open. Over a full screen app, Show line and Search say that
the line stays away and where to change that, instead of nothing or "The
line is empty." -
On the Mac, macOS's questions before Snapfly may watch a folder, use the
microphone or ask your browser which page is open are in all 13
languages, not only in English. -
On the Mac, the pairing code tells the iPhone's way there, More › Mac and
iCloud; VoiceOver reads Cover Files' counts with what they count; Copy
Row says "Copied" on its own button; Studio writes how close a zoom
comes in your region's numbers, like "2,0×"; and a History or Workspace
thumbnail that cannot be made shows a warning instead of spinning for ever. -
On the Mac, the time stamp names the website that was open by its name
alone, like mail.google.com, in the band and in the stamped copy's
description, never the rest of the address, which can hold a search, an
email address or a sign-in link. A screenshot stamped before leaves the
line with its website's name alone too. -
On the Mac, a picture that cannot be read, or whose covers cannot be
drawn, never leaves as it is: what goes into a chat, onto the clipboard,
out by drag, through Copy Link or to the AI assistant is the whole picture
covered, with a note, and it is read again the next time. A PDF goes with
every page covered whole, never as the original; a page that cannot be
read no longer leaves half covered. Sync sends a picture's covered copy
only once it was read, and a copy saved from Finder, Cover Files or a
watched folder is not made from a picture that could not be read. -
On the Mac, Plain file names call a covered PDF "Document" too, as
pictures are called "Image", and a copy whose file name holds a detail
you cover, like an IBAN in a bank statement's name, or one of your own
rules, is called so either way, also when it goes from Hide Private
Details. -
On the Mac in Arabic, what is drawn over a picture sits where it belongs:
Hide Part's covers and boxes, Search's marks on a photo, Draw on Photo,
Studio's picture and timeline, and the introduction's ring. Take down
everything to the left or to the right takes down the photos on that
side of the screen, and photos fly to where they really hang. -
On the Mac, Hide Part, Draw on Photo and Background ask before their
close button, or another photo opened in them, throws away what you
changed, and opening the same photo again brings its window back as you
left it. Studio keeps your zooms and arrows when its window closes, unless
you click Cancel or trimmed the recording meanwhile, and a new recording
waits for Studio to be closed instead of taking their place. -
On the Mac, Standard Prompts and Standard Questions ask before they
replace what you wrote, and a look at Settings › Line no longer keeps the
standard questions as your own: they stay in the language Snapfly
speaks, and Standard Questions shows only once you changed them. -
On the Mac, Remove Key under AI Assistant asks first: Anthropic and
OpenAI show a key only once, so a key removed by mistake means making a
new one. -
On the Mac, a detail or a rule removed under Always Hide comes back with
a click on the note that says it went, and so do saved messages,
questions, prompts, chat apps and websites under Line. VoiceOver names
what each remove button takes away, "Remove “Lena Hoffmann”", instead of
"Remove" alone. -
On the Mac in Arabic, a translation, a description or an answer in the
text card starts on the right when it is in Arabic and on the left when
it is in English, instead of the other way round. -
On the Mac, words beside a green or orange symbol are in the text colour,
so they can be read on a light background: Allowed and Not allowed yet
under Permissions, a pattern that cannot be read and what is wrong with a
card or an IBAN under Always Hide, and Cover Files' counts. -
On the Mac, Reopen Snapfly under Permissions quits first and then opens
Snapfly again, as an update does: two copies no longer run at once, where
the one quitting could take back the screenshot settings the new one had
just made, or keep its shortcuts from working. -
On the Mac, connecting an iPhone on another Apple account can be
cancelled while it connects, should iCloud not answer, instead of
leaving no way out but quitting, and an account let in only then is taken
off again; once connected, Escape closes the sheet as Done does. -
On the Mac, with Reduce Motion on, a photo let go after a press and the
pin badge settle with a short fade instead of a bouncy spring. -
On the Mac, the workspace folder's name and a category's name are kept
when you leave the field, not only on Return, and History's cards can be
reached with Tab where keyboard navigation is on: Space or Return hangs
one again, and on the Workspace page Space selects it and Return opens
it. -
On the Mac, quitting, logging out or Install and Reopen while the screen
is recorded saves the recording first, as Stop does, instead of deleting
it. A recording cut short anyway, as by a crash, is now written in
pieces: the next time Snapfly opens, it hangs on the line up to its last
few seconds, with a note; one that cannot be played goes to the Trash. -
On the Mac, a recording with both the Mac's sound and the microphone can
no longer leave Snapfly saving it for ever: when the two can't be mixed
into one track, the recording keeps both and a note says so. -
On the Mac, Markup open on two photos at once saves each one's Done to its
own photo, never one over the other. -
On the Mac, screenshots go on hanging after the workspace folder went to
the Trash and was made again, a disk was ejected and put back, or
Snapfly was let into the Desktop later: what could not be watched is
tried again each time Snapfly comes to the front, and with inbox mode
off, the Screenshot app's location is read again then too. A folder that
could not be read for a moment no longer hangs its old screenshots again
as new ones. -
On the Mac, the send button over a browser asks it for the open page
once a second, and as soon as another tab comes to the front, instead of
five times a second, so a busy browser slows Snapfly down far less.
Opening a chat's website waits for the browser the same way; what a send
covers, Check Before Sending and the time stamp still ask it right then. -
On the Mac, a guide's Copy no longer hangs the guide on the line as a new
screenshot while Snapfly watches the clipboard: it goes with a file of
it, as photos copied from the line do. -
On the Mac, the launch no longer waits on the network for the Mac's name,
Check for Updates stays responsive while it checks a download, and
covered copies waiting to be pasted are cleared after a day on a Mac that
keeps Snapfly running, besides at each launch. -
On the iPhone, the text of scanned pages can be read, copied, heard and
shared: Save and Share has a third format, Text, and Text anzeigen opens
it, from Review's menu too. It comes in reading order (one column after
the other, a letterhead's side column after the letter, a table row by
row, a paragraph whole, a word broken at a line's end joined again);
every covered place is a black bar, and nothing under a cover is ever
shown or read aloud. Vorlesen speaks it with the iPhone's own voice. -
The text of scanned pages does more: search it (matches marked and
counted), see the pages with the lines the reading was not sure of
outlined where they lie and correct a word or a cell against the page,
hand a table to Numbers or Excel (copy it as cells, or share a CSV file),
translate it with the iPhone's own translation, and hear it with a
player: pause, back and on, speed, the word being said marked. A table
is told from the columns of a letter's foot, and a table whose cells
Vision read as one line is parted into cells again. -
On the iPhone, VoiceOver reads the text sheet's note as what it says,
such as "Kopiert", rather than "Ausgewählt" for its tick. -
On the iPhone, what you cover by hand on a PDF project's pages, and a
cover Snapfly found that you moved or made larger, is kept with the
project and covered in every copy of it: also after Snapfly was closed, a
page was turned or duplicated, or Try Again, and on its picture under
Recent, which shows a change at once. It is back on the page as soon as
the page shows, so nothing drawn meanwhile puts it aside. What you covered
on scanned pages goes with them under Recent and into a project, and the
scan stays until its pages are in the document. -
On the iPhone, the words of scanned pages and PDF projects are never sent
to the AI assistant, even with Find more turned on; screenshots and photos
still are, as before. -
On the iPhone, Cover and Copy, Cover and Save, Back Tap and the share
extension say when they found nothing to cover instead of "Covered".
Back Tap and the Cover Private Details shortcut no longer wait for Apple
Intelligence or the AI assistant. -
On the iPhone, a copy made without covers stays on this iPhone (not on a
Mac or iPad nearby) and leaves the clipboard after ten minutes. -
Share links take at most 1.2 GB a day from everyone together and ten
uploads a minute from one place, as uploads need no account; a pairing
code's record in iCloud can no longer be listed by anyone. -
On the iPhone, a long scan takes much less memory: each camera page is
kept as a JPEG, at its full size, once it is made, and a covered PDF, the
pages as pictures and the text are made a page at a time; Review reads the
pages one after another, and a change in Protect Picture no longer holds
the screen while its copy is made. -
On the iPhone, a long PDF project takes less memory too: a page you
changed by hand keeps what you chose but lets go of its pictures once you
have moved a few pages on, and is made again when you come back to it. A
large PDF, a photo chosen in Photos, a page to crop and Cover and Copy's
picture are read or made without holding up the screen. -
On the iPhone, the AI assistant's messages send you to More › AI
Assistant, where it is set up, not to Settings; a PDF project's camera
that cannot scan says why; the text sheet's warnings use the deeper
orange. -
On the Mac, a PDF copied, sent, saved or linked, from the History too,
while it is still being covered says so for a moment instead of holding
Snapfly up for all its pages, and a send never pastes what was on the
clipboard before; a photo copied in a hurry is read again with Apple
Intelligence before the line keeps it; the line reads two photos at a
time, the newest first, instead of all at once after a change in Settings,
and does not draw one again that looks the same. The History makes its
pictures only while its window is open, and lets them go when it closes,
instead of keeping one of every photo it holds from launch on. -
Fixes: on the Mac, Save Copy… over the very file it copies, as a GIF
or a PDF with nothing to cover can be, no longer deletes it; Studio no
longer stops Snapfly when a video cannot be written, as on a full disk;
a PDF
cropped with text beyond its page no longer stops Snapfly;
the share extension keeps within its memory with large photos and
deletes its file when cancelled; what Apple Intelligence or the AI
assistant said is forgotten with the rest when the iPhone app goes to the
background; the iPhone's sync folder is left out of its backups. -
The text of scanned pages follows the page more closely: a receipt's
items and prices are a table, an address beside a letter's details is
read whole before them, a letterhead down the side comes after the
letter instead of between its lines, and lines such as "IBAN: …" or a
date each stay a line of their own. -
Scanned PDFs can be searched in every script: Turkish, Arabic, Greek,
Cyrillic, Chinese, Japanese and Korean words are found and copied, not
only Western ones, and the text under the pages is in reading order. A
table's cells stay apart in it, also in a covered PDF project, so a row
copied from it reads "Beratung 2 Std. 180,00 €", not "Beratung2 Std.". -
On the iPhone, the covers on a PDF's pages sit on the words they hide.
Read from the PDF's own text, the words were placed a letter further on
after each line break and each ligature, as "fi", so lower on a page a
cover could reach into the words beside it, such as an invoice's number
and date, and stop short of a word's end, which the check of every copy
then covered. -
On the iPhone, a scanned page has a fourth colour, Originalfarbe: the
paper keeps its own colour, so a pink sick note stays pink, evenly lit
and straightened, the print as dark as in Farbe. -
On the iPhone, scanned pages can be kept: Unter Zuletzt behalten puts
them among your recent documents, on this iPhone only. -
On the iPhone, the Scan tab's recent documents and scanned pages are
veiled at first, so no word on them can be read when the screen is seen
by others; the eye beside Alle anzeigen shows them, and Snapfly
remembers your choice. They only ever show the covered copy. -
On the iPhone, the Scan tab is calmer: the last three documents show
side by side, each page whole with how its places stand ("2 zu prüfen",
"3 verdeckt"), nothing hides under the tab bar, Zusammenfügen is now
Verbinden on one line, and the card's words and the tiles' icons are
easier to read. -
On the iPhone, the Scan tab starts a scan in one tap: one green card,
three quick actions (Aus Fotos, Zusammenfügen, PDF öffnen) and your
recent documents, each shown as its first page with the private details
covered. How it works is behind the "?", and scrolled down, a green
Scannen button waits in the bar. -
On the iPhone, a test in More › Detection, Schärfere kleine Schrift
(Test), scans with Snapfly's own camera: photos at full size, the page
taken by itself once small print is sharp and the phone still, and one
short hint at a time otherwise (Ruhig halten, Näher ran, Spiegelung, Handy
leicht kippen, Mehr Licht, Linse reinigen). Off at first. With it,
Näher aufnehmen takes only the small print again, close up, and lays it
onto the page where it then reads more surely. -
On the iPhone, Review says "Kleine Schrift unscharf" where a page's
smallest print reads unsurely, with Näher aufnehmen to take the page again
with the camera, or Neu aufnehmen für kleine Schrift for a photo. -
On the iPhone, small light-grey print beside a page's dark text comes out
of Scan as dark and plain as the rest, line by line, with every umlaut's
dot, accent, comma and @ kept, where cleaning used to leave "Arzte fur
Radiologie". A thin light face comes out a little bolder, so it reads as
dark as the body. Each page is read again after cleaning: a line of that
grey print that reads otherwise, a dot or an accent gone, is read on its own, cleaned
again gently, or kept as the light alone leaves it, whichever first reads
as before. A dot the photo left too faint to read before and cleaning
made readable counts as clearer, not different. -
On the iPhone, Review says how many private details your categories leave
visible ("Nichts verdeckt · 3 sichtbar") and lists them under Sichtbar
gelassen, each to cover with a tap, with a word where no name of yours is
kept in Always Hide on that iPhone. It never says "Nichts Privates" while
they show. -
On the iPhone, Review is new: one job, checking the covers. A chip under
the title says what is covered and what is still to check, and opens one
list of every page's places, each with Lassen and Verdecken, Alle
verdecken, the pages' hints and what is covered. The page is much larger,
the places to check outlined in orange, with an eye in its corner to see
it without covers and a swipe sideways to the next page. Under it, the
pages with a small orange dot where something is open, and one bar of
tools: Abdecken or Seite, with Löschen last and in red. Weiter is the one
green button; sending to apps is in Sichern und teilen, and the menu holds
KI fragen, Alle Seiten, Neu aufnehmen and Scan verwerfen. -
On the iPhone, the name you keep in Always Hide is covered on every page
even where the page's reading gets it a little wrong: surname first with
a comma, broken over two lines, in capitals, with its space left out or
put in, or with a letter misread, as an l for an i, a 1 or a 0 for a
letter, or rn for an m. It is also found again with what you added to
Always Hide since the page was opened. The line under Review never says
"Nichts Privates gefunden" while a place is still to check or the page
has a fault: it says "3 verdeckt · 4 zu prüfen", "3 verdeckt, alles
geprüft" or "Nichts Privates · 1 Qualitätshinweis". -
On the iPhone, Review says so when the page's text could not be read,
with Try Again, instead of finding nothing private on it; and your name
is covered where it runs on into the next line of its column, even with
another column's line read between. Review's bar is tidier: the title in
the middle with room to the menu, a smaller Weiter, Undo and Redo as
icons alone so every tool's name shows on the smallest iPhone, the eye in
the page's bottom corner, and in the list a long kind cut short with
"…", its buttons under it at the largest text sizes. -
On the iPhone, a phone photo of a letter comes out of Scan with its lines
straight, never bent into a wave by a row of text taken for a ruled line,
and its small light-grey print, an address or telephone numbers in a
margin, comes out plain to read instead of faint and broken. -
On the iPhone, Scan cleans a real photo of a paper better, still only by
making pixels lighter or darker and moving them, never by redrawing or
retyping anything. A fold or a soft shadow from a hand or the phone is
evened out like the rest of the paper, while a printed grey box or a
photo keeps its grey: Snapfly tells them apart by their edges, soft for
light, sharp for print. A folded sheet is made flat part by part: where
both its edges bend at a fold, each part gets its own perspective and the
parts are joined so lines go on without a step. Pink, yellow or blue paper
turns white while a blue signature or a red stamp keeps its colour. Light
print, as from a typewriter or a carbon copy, comes out dark. And the
edges are cut in until nothing of the table or floor is left. A page from
a flatbed scanner comes out as clean: the thin crease where it was folded
is evened out like a shadow, while a pale watermark or a shaded row keeps
the tint it was printed in, even where it reaches the sheet's edge,
instead of going white in places. The orange note that less text reads
after cleaning no longer comes for a typewriter's Z or O read once as 2
or 0, and the part of a folded sheet below a fold is laid true where a
hand's shadow hid one end of the fold. -
On the iPhone, PDF projects: put photos, scans, screenshots and PDFs
together into one PDF, or open a PDF to put its pages in order and cover
them. Under the scan card, "PDF erstellen und bearbeiten" offers Merge
and Open PDF, and Recently Edited goes on where you left off; a PDF or a
picture opened in Snapfly from Files, Mail or Safari starts a project, and
the Protected tab merges the screenshots you choose. The overview shows
the pages three to a row in their own shape, with where each comes from;
hold a page and drag it to its place while the others make room; choose
pages to turn, duplicate, save as a PDF of their own or delete, and undo
or redo each step from the note that says what was done. The pages open
in Protect Picture, a swipe up or down to the next or the one before,
zoom up to eight times, with their covers found from the PDF's own text.
A PDF's password is asked each time and never kept, and a signed PDF
says that editing ends its signature. Save and Share sets the page size
for pictures (Original, A4, US Letter), the quality with the file's size,
covers and searchable text. The files you add are never changed; the
project is kept on the iPhone, protected and out of backups, and opens
again where you left it. -
On the iPhone, Scan cleans each page as a good scanner does, from the
camera or from photos you choose in Photos: the page is found and cut
from the photo (its corners set by hand, with a loupe, where Snapfly is
not sure), made flat in its own shape, turned upright and levelled, its
light made even, the paper white and the print dark and sharp. Only the
picture as a whole changes: nothing is drawn, filled in, taken away or
guessed. Each page is read before and after, and where a number is no
longer read, the text is blurred, a reflection hides it, the page is
small in the picture or the lens looks smudged, an orange card says where,
with Take Again; then the covers are found on the cleaned page. In
Review, the cleaned page wipes in over the photo and its covers sweep in;
Compare shows Before and After either side of a divider; the document's
pages sit in a strip, to reorder, add or delete; and Color, Grayscale or
Black and White changes every page. Save and Share makes one A4 PDF,
whose text you can find and copy without what is covered, or a PNG for
each page, with covers, where every save starts, or without, which says
the file holds every private detail. -
On the iPhone, a photo chosen with Protect a Photo that looks like a
photographed paper document, never a screenshot, offers to straighten and
brighten it as a scan is: Clean Up does, its covers are found again on
the cleaned page, and Revert brings back the photo as it was. Nothing is
cleaned without the tap. -
On the iPhone, Scan names the document in Save and Share, a name you can
change: with Apple Intelligence on, from the words outside the covers on
the first page, its kind, who sent it and its date, never a covered word
or your own name; otherwise by when it was scanned ("Scan 21.10.2026,
14.05"). The document's kind, Invoice, Letter, Form or Receipt, shows
beside its pages. -
On the iPhone, a tap on ChatGPT, Claude or another AI chat for scanned
pages says the covered copy goes to it, never the original, and offers
three questions to send with it: Explain the Document, Summarize, and
List Deadlines and Amounts, each asking never to guess what is covered or
unreadable and never to fill in or correct a number. The conversation is
in your own app; Snapfly holds no key for it and sends nothing itself. -
On the iPhone, a covered picture saved as a PNG leaves without the Exif
note the system writes into it. -
On the iPhone, the question before a picture leaves says "1 place still
to check" for one, not "1 places". -
Studio, for screen recordings on the Mac. A recording opens in it once it
hangs, already zoomed in where you clicked and typed, following the
pointer there, with a ring at each click. Draw arrows, boxes, circles,
numbered steps and words over it, each for as long as you want, and move
or stretch zooms and marks on the timeline, under pictures of the
recording and its sound. Save Video makes a smooth new video at sixty
frames a second beside the recording, with its sound. Edit › Edit in
Studio… opens it later; Settings › General can stop it opening after each
recording. -
On the iPhone, More is a short overview now, with a page for each part.
A card says how many of the twenty-two kinds are covered in every
picture, with a little document covered in your look, and turns grey,
Protection Off, when none is. Four tiles open What Is Covered, Always
Hide, Cover Style and Detection, each showing what it holds. What Is
Covered shows what it does: a made-up doctor's bill, chat and note in
which every kind you choose is covered as you choose it, in your look.
Six tiles open each group's switches in a short sheet over the document,
which turns to where the kind shows and sweeps its cover over it, and the
"…" menu sets the recommended choice, everything or nothing at once.
Cover Style shows a bill covered in the look you choose, as
the two switches have it. Detection holds Apple Intelligence, the check
every copy gets before it leaves, and how fast covering is on your
iPhone. AI Assistant, Send to Apps, the double tap on the back, and Mac
and iCloud sit under Features, the introduction and the demo under Help.
Every setting keeps the value it had. The tab bar no longer shrinks to a
round button over the rows on More, and every icon there is in the one
green. -
On the iPhone, Also hide is now Always Hide, under More, and
shows at a glance what is covered in every picture, with one quiet line
on what keeps it private. Your details stand as rows with their kind's
icon, a card or an IBAN by its last four digits alone. Your rules have a
switch each and say how many are on. Its sheets are just as tall as what
they hold and sit whole above the keyboard: a new detail is chosen from
a list of the four kinds, a name typed as first and last name; a new
rule is a word or comes after a label, with one line of an example
covered as you type. A label covers what follows it, or the line below
when nothing does, as before, or always the same line or always the next
line. Edit reorders and deletes, and a swipe deletes too. Empty rules
that Settings once kept, shown as rules without a word, are gone, and an
empty rule can no longer be saved. -
On the Mac, your details and rules have a pane of their own in
Settings, Always Hide, as on the iPhone: each detail with its kind's
colour, a card or an IBAN by its last four digits; each rule with what
it covers and a switch, and how many are on. A name is typed as first
and last name; a rule's sheet covers an example as you type and lets a
label keep to the same line or the next line. -
Your details and rules are covered for sure, never marked to check. A
name, a card's number or an IBAN broken over two lines is covered, and
so is one with a letter misread; what your rules cover is hidden from the
words sent to the AI assistant too. A card is kept only once its number
adds up, on the Mac as well. Rules kept before stay on and work as they
did. -
Your own details under Also hide, on the Mac and the iPhone: your name,
your address, your bank cards and your bank accounts. Each is covered
in the ways it is written, whatever is checked: a name surname first, in
capitals or with an initial; a street with its house number and the
postcode with the town; a card's whole number and "•••• 4242" where only
its last digits show; an IBAN with or without spaces, and a German
account's number. A card's number is grouped and its network named as you
type it, an IBAN checked. They stay in the keychain of that device alone,
never in iCloud, and in an iPhone's backup only sealed to that iPhone;
they are hidden from the words sent to the AI assistant. A name saved as
a word moves there by itself. -
On the iPhone, the Protected tab clears up easily. Hold a screenshot and
tap Remove from Protected: it leaves the list at once, with Undo for a
few seconds, and stays in Photos. Or tap Delete from Photos, which iOS
asks about first. Select, then a tap on each or a finger drawn across,
takes several off at once. -
On the iPhone, ChatGPT, Claude and the other AI chats open straight away
with the protected copy ready to paste: tap the picture above the
keyboard there, or hold the message field and tap Paste. Claude opens a
new chat. Where the app is not on the iPhone, the share sheet shows as
before. Save to Photos opens Photos once the copy is saved. -
Names, Patient names and Other people are three switches of their own,
on the Mac and the iPhone, and each covers only its own people: Patient
names the patients'; Other people the doctors, customers, staff and
everyone else the words round a name tell; Names every name whose role
nothing tells, as in a chat or a list, and the one who signs a letter
that is no doctor's. With Names on alone, a doctor's letter about you
covers your name and leaves the doctors'. Your name, saved as a word, is
covered however it is written with any of the three on. All three, on at
first, cover everyone's names, and a choice of Names with Patient names
covers as before, with Other people turned on; so does Cover Files' last
choice, and the share extension's until Snapfly is opened. Cover Files and
Hide Part show each switch's subtitle, as Settings does. "Herr" is no
longer covered on its own, as in "Sehr geehrter Herr Kollege", and a
doctor a practice lists between two others in its letterhead without
"Dr. med." is known as a doctor, not marked to check. -
On the iPhone, People in Settings opens with Your Name: your name with
"always covered", or a row to add it. A name saved as a word moves under
Your Details as Snapfly starts. -
Only the kinds you checked under Privacy are covered, on the Mac and the
iPhone. Apple Intelligence, or Claude or ChatGPT, no longer covers a
street, a date, a reference or a medical term it calls a name: what it
names is read again by Snapfly's own rules, and what may fit is offered
for you to check. A street is covered with its house number. A heading in
capitals, like "WEITERER STANDORT", is no longer taken for a name, and a
name over a letter's address or beside a date of birth is sure, not "to
check". Your own name, saved as a word under Also hide, is known however
it is written. -
On the iPhone, Protect Picture is calmer and the page leads: it stands
on a bright ground with a soft shadow, as large as the room allows. Under
the title a small capsule says how many private details were found, like
"3 sensible Angaben erkannt", and how many are still to check. The apps
to send to stand one above another beside the page, as their own icons
with nothing round them, with Photos, Files and the share sheet under
them; the tools are one bar along the bottom, the tool in hand on a soft
green circle. Explain, Copy, Send to Mac and Full Screen are in the menu. -
On the iPhone, a tap on an app hands it the protected copy the ways iOS
allows, never a website: one picture straight to WhatsApp, and every
other app through the share sheet, where you tap it. Airbnb, whose app
takes no pictures from others, is no longer offered there. -
On the iPhone, choose several screenshots as in Photos: Select, then a
tap on each, or a finger drawn sideways across them. One tap on Save
Covered Copies covers each as Settings says, checks it and saves it to
Photos as a new picture; Share sends them all at once. One that can't be
covered is never saved and stays chosen, with the reason. Leave Snapfly
meanwhile and it waits, then goes on once you're back. -
On the iPhone, a picture covered without being opened (from a
screenshot's menu, several at once, by Back Tap or a shortcut, from the
share sheet, or a scanned page) is no longer copied, shared or saved
when Snapfly could not read it, as iOS may keep it from reading in the
background; Snapfly says so instead. Faster picture processing never
keeps such a picture as one without words, and reads again every photo
it prepared before. -
On the iPhone, screenshots stand three to a row, larger, and the Photos
tab shows three rows of the newest. Pinch with two fingers, as in Photos,
for four to a row and back: the grid follows the fingers and settles
softly. See All's menu offers the same. -
The iPhone's first run speaks louder: each headline large and heavy,
with the word that carries it in green, like "bleibt" in "Privat bleibt
privat.", and the line under it larger. -
On the iPhone, scanned pages go to an app with one tap: under them, the
same apps as under a photo on the Mac, by their icons, ChatGPT, Claude,
WhatsApp, Gmail, GMX and WEB.DE at first, with ten more to choose and
drag into order. A tap covers every page, copies them and opens the app,
or its website, to paste them there. Protect Picture has the same apps,
round, over its buttons, and More › Send to Apps chooses them. -
On the iPhone, Explain (the sparkles in Protect Picture) sends the
protected copy to your own Claude or ChatGPT and says, as it writes, what
the document is, what matters in it and what to do, in your language;
then it answers your questions, ready ones or your own. Set up in More ›
AI Assistant with your own key, which also offers Find more with Claude.
Only the protected copy goes, only when you tap it, and requests to
OpenAI ask it not to store them for later retrieval. -
Letters are read more like a person reads them. The address under a
name is that person's, even a street without a word like "Straße"; dates
of birth are a kind of their own, on by default, found by the word before
them, like "geb." or "Geburtsdatum"; reference numbers like "Unser
Zeichen" or "Referenznummer" are covered as ID numbers; and an IBAN read
with a space after its country is found, with the bank's BIC beside it.
In a doctor's letter the patient's name, address, date of birth and case
numbers are known as the patient's, and the doctors' names as theirs. -
In English letters, a practice's name like "Internal Medicine Practice"
and a heading like "Doctor's Letter" are no longer taken for people's
names. -
On the iPhone, Details lists every place by whose it is, the patient,
the doctors and other people, then by what it is, like Money or Health.
Each group shows how much of it is covered and has one switch to cover
or uncover all of it; what Settings leaves visible, like the doctors'
names when only patients' are covered, is listed too and covered with a
tap, there or on the picture. -
On the iPhone, the introduction's buttons are smaller, each on one line.
-
The iPhone app opens with a first run of under fifteen seconds, on a
made-up invoice that looks like a real one (a studio's letterhead, whom
it is for, items, VAT, total and the account it is paid from), standing
as a printed A4 page on a soft green stage, with bars that show how far
it is and a short line under each headline saying what happens: a light
reads it, and its name, email and IBAN are lit, then covered, while the
amount stays readable; Names, Emails and Bank details are yours to turn
on and off with a tap; the stage turns into a camera and a doctor's
letter, with a signature and the practice's stamp, is found, taken,
straightened and covered: the patient's name, date of birth and
diagnosis, never the doctor's name; and the protected letter is ready to
share, with the invoice and a bank statement, protected too, behind it,
beside ChatGPT, WhatsApp and WEB.DE by their apps' real icons. Try It Now opens
the scanner, Skip Demo leaves at any time, and More › Help &
Introduction › Watch the Demo shows it again. It moves calmly with
Reduce Motion or Low Power Mode, and is described for VoiceOver. Access
to your screenshots is asked for afterwards, on the Photos tab. -
On the iPhone, scanned pages become one covered PDF with a tap: every
page covered as Settings says, or as you left it after opening it, a
picture of each page sized like A4 and no text to copy, ready to send or
save to Files. Pages show their number, keep their order, open again as
you left them and can be removed one by one. -
The iPhone app moves with more care: when a picture opens, its covers
grow over the private details one after another; when the copy is ready
the green shield bounces once with a light tap; a green line reads the
page on the Scan tab; and the screenshot cards rise softly into place.
With Reduce Motion, all of it is quiet. -
On the iPhone, Snapfly is in the share sheet of every app: share a
picture, choose Snapfly, and it is covered as chosen in the app, checked,
then copied, shared on or saved, without opening Snapfly. -
The iPhone app has four tabs at the bottom, in Liquid Glass from iOS 26 on:
Photos, Scan, Protected and More. Scan uses the camera to scan a letter, a
form or a receipt, straightened and cropped, and covers its private
details like a screenshot's. Protected shows the screenshots protected
lately, and More holds Settings and the introduction. -
On the iPhone's home screen, the newest twelve screenshots are small square
cards, four to a row, with when each was taken, whole, in a small label
(the time for today's, the date alone for older ones), and Protect a
Photo is a smaller button. -
Printed forms, like a German sick note, a prescription or a referral, are
read field by field: the value under or beside each label is covered as
what the label says it is, and only when that kind is chosen. Names alone
covers the insured person's name, even on two lines, and the doctor's,
and leaves the diagnosis, the dates and the insurance numbers readable;
Health alone covers the diagnosis and the days of illness and leaves the
names. Labels are never covered, a disease named after a person is no
name, and an insurance number is no phone number. -
A PDF's covered copy is opened again before it is handed out, and is not
handed out if it still carries text, notes, form fields or the original's
author, title, subject or keywords. -
On the iPhone, See All finds screenshots by the words they say (those
read ahead of time), shows only those with private details, protected or
not, and puts the newest or the oldest first. It is there whenever there
are screenshots. -
On the iPhone, Protect Picture puts the picture first: it fills the screen,
as large as it fits, with the tools, and Copy, Share and Save, as small
floating icons over it, and how it stands in one small capsule. Details
goes through the places Snapfly was not sure about one by one, with each
place shown, Keep Covered, Cover or Leave Visible, and how many are
checked. Save also saves to Files. Copy, Share or Save tapped while the
copy is still made goes once it is ready. Full Screen, or a tap beside
the picture, leaves only the picture; a tap brings the rest back. -
Draw on Photo draws circles: drag round a line, a price or a button and a
red ring goes round it, as a pen draws one. The O key picks it, and the
last tool you drew with is ready the next time. -
The iPhone opens on a new home screen: Snapfly's picture of stacked photos
with a green photo badge, a compact green Protect a Photo button, and the
newest screenshots in cards that show when each was taken and whether it
was protected, all of them behind See All; from iOS 18 on, one opens by
growing out of its card. Holding one covers it and
copies, shares or saves it. The picture turns small once there are
screenshots, so they come first. The iPhone's colour is now green. -
A patient's name is covered wherever a report names it: under "Herrn" in
the address, in the subject, after "Ihren Patienten" in a sentence,
before a date of birth, under a table's header, with an initial or a
letter misread. In a doctor's letter, an invoice or a bank statement, a
line shaped like a name is covered and marked to check, never left as a
suggestion only. -
Patient names and Other people sit beside Names: Names covers everyone,
and with it off, only the people chosen are covered. Patient names starts
on. Whoever chose some people's names before keeps that choice. None of
them covers a phone number, an address or a QR code. -
On the iPhone, Protect Picture is a workspace: select, the marker, a box
that turns, the lasso and the eraser under the picture, a tap on a word
to hide it, handles to move and resize, a double tap to zoom, and Undo
and Redo for every change. Each place is counted once, protected, to
check or not protected; Copy, Share and Save ask first while places are
still to check, and never cut their words short. -
Faster picture processing, off until you turn it on: the iPhone reads
your pictures from the last 60 days ahead of time, on the iPhone only,
so they open covered without being read again. Screenshots only, all
allowed photos, or photos you pick; Pause, Prepare Now and Delete Local
Index in Settings, with real numbers. -
Names covers people's names and nothing else: a company, a practice or a
bank, a title, a phone number, an address, an amount or a diagnosis beside
a name stays readable unless its own kind is chosen. -
Companies and organizations are a kind of their own, and Settings groups
the kinds in six: People, Companies and organizations, Money, Health,
Documents, Passwords and access. -
Covering is faster: a screenshot is read once and kept in memory while it
is worked on, small print is read again side by side, and Apple
Intelligence is asked only for the kinds chosen. -
On the iPhone, a screenshot shows at once, its private places are marked a
moment later, and the checked copy follows. Zoom in, tap a place to cover
or uncover it, draw over a part to cover it, undo and redo, and hold the
eye to compare. Copy, Share and Save wait until the copy is checked and
every cover is known to have landed. Protect a Photo opens any picture;
holding a screenshot offers Cover and Copy; the ones protected lately sit
in a row of their own. -
Sync between the Mac and the iPhone, through your own iCloud: turn it on in
Settings on both, and what hangs on the line shows on the iPhone with its
private details covered, under From your Mac; Send to Mac, under a covered
screenshot on the iPhone, hangs it on the Mac's line. Originals stay on the
device unless you choose Originals too. Settings lists your devices and says
how syncing stands. -
A Mac and an iPhone on different Apple accounts pair with a code: Show
Code… in Settings › Sync on the Mac shows six digits, a new one every 30
seconds; type them on the iPhone under Connect to a Mac with a Code, say
yes on the Mac, and the two sync through iCloud. Disconnect… on either side
ends it. -
Prompts for AI chats: over ChatGPT, Claude and the other AI chats, numbers
stand in a small glass bar just above the send button, which keeps its
size and place. Point at one to see its name;
click it and the photos go in with that prompt after them. Two come with
it, Natural writing and Reply to a customer; write up to nine of your own
in Settings › Line. They are under Ask AI in a photo's menu too. -
Copy Link, in a photo's menu: the photo, covered as it leaves the line, a
recording or a PDF, behind a link to paste anywhere. The link works for
seven days, then the file is deleted; Delete Link takes it down sooner.
The page shows it with Save beside it, in English, German or Arabic. -
The AI assistant has its own pane in Settings, and General is shorter.
Saving a key checks it with Claude or ChatGPT at once and says whether it
works; the clipboard button pastes and saves a copied key in one click.
The model is a menu of the models your key may use, by name, with Other…
for one typed by hand. The pane lists what the assistant does and holds
its Find more switch, and an AI card whose key is missing opens it. -
The menu bar menu is tidier: Settings and the screenshots folder at the
top, then taking, files, the line, the switches, and help. Check for
Updates… sits just above Quit: the download edition updates itself in one
click after a question; the App Store edition opens TestFlight or the App
Store. -
Hide Private Details with Snapfly, from Finder, now sends the covered copy
straight on: one click on Gmail, WhatsApp, ChatGPT, Claude or any chat on
for photos, or Copy, or the Mac's Share menu, besides Save Copy…. What to
hide is chosen in one tidy row of buttons. -
Sound in screen recordings, chosen in Settings › General: the Mac's sound,
the microphone (macOS 15 and later), or both mixed into one track. None
until chosen. -
Hide Desktop Icons, in the menu bar: the wallpaper covers the icons on
every screen for clean screenshots and recordings, and they come back when
it is turned off. -
Cover Files…, in the menu bar: PDFs and pictures by the hundred, even a
thousand, dropped or chosen as files or whole folders. Choose what to
cover, like names alone, and each gets a covered copy in a new folder,
with the folders they came in kept. A list shows how each went, and those
with nothing to cover, to look at before sending. A file that cannot be
covered gets no copy, and the files themselves never change. Several
files or a folder sent to Hide Private Details with Snapfly in Finder open
it too. -
Background…, under Edit in a photo's menu: the photo set on a colour, with
room round it, rounded corners and a soft shadow, for a post, a shop or a
slide. Eight colours, the room and the corners on sliders, and a size:
round the photo, square, 16:9, 4:5 or 9:16. It goes out that way, round
what is covered and drawn; the file stays as it is. Remove Background
takes it off again. -
Workspace, an option in Settings (off until you turn it on): a folder of
its own on your Desktop, named after the app, with a folder for each kind
of screenshot, Orders, Customers, Projects, Documents, Other and Unsorted.
New screenshots are saved there, safely: written whole or not at all, and
never over another file. Add, rename, hide, reorder or remove categories,
choose which one new screenshots go to, rename or move the folder (in
Settings or in the Finder: Snapfly finds it again), and delete it with a
question first; everything goes to the Trash. The folder carries Snapfly's
icon in the Finder. In History, a Workspace page shows them as a grid or a
list, by day, with search, and each has a menu to open, Quick Look, copy,
copy its path, show in the Finder, move to another folder, rename or move
to the Trash. Turning it off, or deleting Snapfly, never deletes a
screenshot. Not in the Mac App Store edition. -
Record a Guide, in the menu bar: click through what you want to show, and
each click becomes a step, with a screenshot of the moment, what was
clicked marked in red, and a sentence like "Click “Orders”." Click the
capsule above the Dock to finish. In the guide's window, give it a title,
write any step again, move or delete steps, then Hang on the Line sends it
as a PDF, or Save makes a PDF or one tall picture. Private details are
covered in every step, nothing typed is recorded, and the last 20 guides
are under Recent Guides. -
Hold the arrows on the line's tag a moment, then drag: the line goes
anywhere, left, right, up or down, and stays there. Near the middle of the
screen, or the top, it snaps into place. A quick drag still moves it up or
down only. -
A click on a chat's icon under a photo, or on the send button, sends at
once. The card of Check before sending, under Privacy, no longer shows
until you turn it on there. -
A photo's menu is short again: Copy, Copy Text and Paste at the top, then
Send to (the chats under photos, with More Chats for the rest), Ask AI,
Text and AI, Edit and Save and Export as submenus, then Open, Quick Look,
Keep on Top, Show in Finder and Pin, and All Photos and Take down at the
end. About fifteen rows instead of fifty. -
A cover no longer hides part of the line under or over it: with only the
name covered on an order page, the street right under the name now reads
in full. -
The icons in Settings › Line › Icons under photos stand in even rows
across the whole width: nine and nine, not a full row with two under it. -
Settings › General › AI Assistant looks new: Claude and ChatGPT are two
tiles with their app's icon, from your Mac, and each says whether a key
is saved for it. Save sits beside the key, the line under it says where
the key is kept, and the model's field has a way back to the usual one. -
Convert to SVG…, in a photo's menu, draws the photo again as shapes that
stay sharp at any size. Your photo and its SVG sit one over the other
under a divider, and you pick the kind of picture (screenshot, logo or
icon, illustration, photo, black and white), then colors, smoothness and
how small a speck to leave out. Copy SVG pastes into Figma, Sketch or
Illustrator, and Save SVG… writes a file. Straight edges stay straight
and corners stay sharp. It is made from the copy with the private details
covered, on your Mac. Soft gradients become bands of flat color. -
Turn on as many icons under photos as you like: six fit under a photo,
and with more, the last place is ⋯, which lists the rest. In Settings ›
Line › Icons under photos, a click on an icon turns it on or off. -
Each icon chooses on its own whether it opens in the browser or in its
app, and Websites open in picks the browser: the Mac's default, or
another one on it. Each row says where a click goes. -
An AI assistant, Claude or ChatGPT, with your own API key, set up once in
Settings › General › AI Assistant. Write a Reply, in a photo's menu,
writes the answer to the customer in the screenshot, ready to send;
Explain with Claude says what the screenshot shows and answers a question
about it; Order Details asks it for what your Mac did not find, like what
was bought. It is sent the screenshot covered, never the original, and
only when you choose one of these; they bill your account for each
request. Find more with Claude, under Privacy › Protection, lets it look
for private details the patterns miss; it is off until you turn it on. -
Invoices and order pages with the labels in one column and the values
beside them, like Vorname:, Nachname:, Adresse:, PLZ: and Stadt:, have
those values covered, and the name the bill goes to with its address. -
Smart selection: when you take a screenshot, the picture, card, button
or paragraph under the pointer is outlined, and a click takes just that.
Scroll for a bigger or smaller part. A drag keeps to the edges on screen,
and the empty space round it is cut to an even margin. Crop… does the
same on a photo. On at first, under Settings › General. -
Twelve more icons under photos, off until you turn them on in Settings ›
Line › Icons under photos: Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek, Qwen, Messenger,
Instagram, Outlook, Yahoo Mail, Facebook, Airbnb, Visual Studio Code and
Antigravity. A row holds six at a time. WhatsApp has its new logo.
In Settings every logo shows in its own colours, and the ones under
photos carry a small check. -
Hide Part covers the word you click, and Always cover, under it, covers
that word in every photo from then on, as a rule of your own under
Privacy. -
Rest the pointer on a photo's lock and it shows where it was covered:
the rest dims, and each covered place is outlined. -
Drag the icons under photos into the order you want, under Line › Icons
under photos. -
Undo, for a few seconds: a photo taken down or moved to the Trash, a
crop, or a part hidden by hand, each with a note above the Dock that a
click takes back. -
An introduction on your own screen, about a minute long: it points at
the real menu bar icon, your first screenshot, the photo on the line,
its lock, its icons, its menu and the tag, with the rest of the screen
dimmed and a small card beside it. Doing a step moves on by itself; it
can be ended and continued from the menu bar, and Settings › Support ›
Help & Introduction starts it again, shows one thing at a time, and turns
off the tips that show once at the right moment. The iPhone has one too. -
Download, on the tag above the trash: the photos picked, or all of them,
saved into Downloads as they leave the line, covered, drawn on and
cropped. They stay on the line, and a note shows them in Finder. -
Names finds the customer under a card's heading, like Kunde on a shop's
order page. Small lines in a colour, read at first as one sign of another
script, are read again line by line, and a heading with a menu's dots
beside it, further above its first line, still counts. -
Crop, quickly: choose Crop… in a photo's menu, or ⌥-click the photo, and
it opens large. Drag over the part to keep, and it is kept as you let go;
Return keeps the whole photo. It goes out cropped, and the file stays as
it is. -
ChatGPT, Claude, WhatsApp, Gmail, GMX and WEB.DE in a row under a photo,
so the photo itself stays calm, each with its own switch under Line ›
Icons under photos.
WhatsApp, Gmail, GMX and WEB.DE show their logos; ChatGPT and Claude show
the app's own icon from your Mac. A click opens the website in your
browser; Open in, under Line, brings the app back. GMX and WEB.DE open the
mailbox and copy the covered photo for you to paste into a new message. -
The menu bar icon says how many photos hang, and shows a small dot while
something new hangs that the line has not shown yet. Count on the menu
bar icon, under Line, turns it off. -
One quiet line at the top of Settings › Privacy: how many details
Snapfly covered in the photos you sent in the last 7 days. -
Sent, and a way back: once sent photos leave the line, a note above the
Dock says where they went, and a click on it hangs them again. -
Not during a call, under Line: while the microphone is in use, in Zoom,
Teams, FaceTime or a call in the browser, the line stays up unless you
bring it down, the send button over chats stays away, and nothing of
Snapfly shows in what you share. -
Questions for ChatGPT and Claude, under Line: right-click ChatGPT or
Claude on a photo, or choose Ask ChatGPT in its menu, and the photo goes
with a question after it, like "Summarize this in a few lines". Write
your own in Settings. -
Six looks for covers, under Privacy: ink, labelled (the ink says what it
hides, like Name or Phone), blur, pixels, dots and erased. Each hides
for good: the soft ones are drawn from the colors around what is covered,
never from it, so nothing can be brought back. -
Keep the last four digits, under Privacy: card, account and phone numbers
stay recognisable, as on a bank statement. -
Every copy is checked before it leaves: read again as anyone could read
it, with whatever private still shows covered too. -
Find more with Apple Intelligence, under Privacy, on a Mac or iPhone that
has it: the model on the device covers what the patterns miss, like a
name in a sentence. Nothing leaves the device. -
Strongest protection, under Privacy: every line with something private is
covered whole, with more room around it. -
Two new kinds to cover: API keys and tokens (on from the start), and IP
addresses. Crypto wallets count as bank accounts, a map's coordinates as
an address, and Wi-Fi passwords, licence keys and booking codes as codes.
More labels are known, like a contract, member or insurance number. -
Every edit says where it went: after Markup or Trim, a note names the
folder the photo was saved in, and a click on it shows the photo in
Finder. Done in Draw on Photo and Hide Part says the edit is kept with
the photo, and the file stays as it is. -
Save Copy…, in a photo's menu and in Draw on Photo, keeps the photo as it
goes out, drawn on, cropped or covered, as a file of its own. -
Pick photos with the circle on each, opposite the cross, to send just
those. Picked photos stay picked when the line goes up, so the send
button over a chat sends them alone. Pick All and Unpick All are in a
photo's menu. -
ChatGPT and Claude beside the paper plane: a click sends the photo, or
the ones picked with it, straight into the app, on the chat it shows or a
new one. Their own icons show while the apps are on the Mac; a photo's
menu also opens the website. -
The cross and the paper plane on a photo now answer where they are drawn
in right-to-left languages. -
Draw on Photo, in a photo's menu: arrows, boxes, a highlighter, numbered
steps and words, and a crop to the part that matters, drawn on what
leaves the line. Each tool has its key, and ⌘Z undoes. The file itself
stays as it is. -
Cover what lands in a folder, under Privacy: every picture or PDF that
lands in a folder you choose gets a covered copy in another, in the
background, with one note when a run is done. -
Test on a Sample, under Privacy: a made-up order covered with what you
checked, to see what each kind hides. -
Send with Shop Header, in a photo's menu: the covered screenshot goes
under a band with your shop's name and logo, the order and the day. Set
them under Line in Settings. -
Monthly pack, under Bookkeeping in Settings: a month's receipts in one
PDF for the tax advisor, a page listing them with the sum of the totals,
then each receipt on a page of its own. -
Pictures leave as fresh files: what they show, without the notes a file
carries on when, where and with what it was made, or where it was
downloaded from. Plain file names, under Privacy, call them "Image" too. -
Cover everything in AI chats, under Privacy: whatever goes into ChatGPT,
Claude, Gemini or another AI chat has every kind covered, checked or not.
The send button over the chat shows a lock by the count meanwhile. -
Check before sending, under Privacy: before photos go into an AI chat, or
an app or website not known as a chat, a card shows them as they will go
and what is covered. Return sends them, Escape keeps them on the line. -
Save for Bookkeeping and Email to Bookkeeping…, in a photo's menu: a
covered copy named for its day, order and total, with a line in
Snapfly.csv, or in a new email to whoever keeps the books. -
Saved messages, under Line in Settings, wait above the message bar.
{order}, {total}, {date}, {name} and {tracking} fill in from the photo; a
blank of a covered kind stays empty. -
Order Details, in a photo's menu: the order number, date, total, name,
address, email, phone and tracking number read off a screenshot, each
ready to copy, or all of them as a row for a spreadsheet. -
Order Details reads a GiroCode or a Swiss QR bill as a transfer: the
account, who is paid, the amount and the reference. -
Orders, in the History window: photos with an order, invoice or customer
number together under that number. -
Sent, in the History window: what went into which chat, when, with what
covered and the message, to search or export as a table. The History
keeps photos 90 days, a year or forever too. -
The message bar keeps the last five messages: click one, or press ↑ and
↓, to send it again. -
The message bar sends in another language: choose it with the globe, and
Return translates your message on your Mac, to read before the next
Return sends it. Kept for each chat, on macOS 15 and later. -
Send Again in the History: a photo sent before goes into the chat in
front once more, covered. -
Keep on Top, in a photo's menu: it floats over every app in a small
window, to read from while you write in a chat. -
Snapfly has version numbers of its own now, and this list says what each
one brings. Settings › About shows yours. -
QR codes and barcodes are covered, a new kind under Privacy, on the Mac
and the iPhone. Nobody can read what a code holds by looking, so it is
covered whole, with the number printed under a barcode. It starts on for
everyone who covers anything. -
The lock on a photo says what was covered: rest the pointer on it, or open
the photo's menu, for "Covered: Names · QR codes and barcodes". VoiceOver
says it too, and the iPhone shows it under the covered picture. The lock
now shows only when something was covered. -
A paper plane after the lock marks a photo that says what one sent lately
said. Its menu says where that went and when, and so does Check before
sending. It needs the History, and turns off under Line in Settings. -
On the iPhone: rules of your own under Also hide, as on the Mac, and
Check All, Recommended and Uncheck All in Settings.
- Download Snapfly.zip and open it.
- Drag Snapfly to the Applications folder and open it.
- The first time, macOS says it cannot check the app: open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway.
