Append mode for writing to files?

I can't quite get around the entire source, as the referenced CODAL bits seem to be unavailable, but am wondering if, with the increased flash and RAM sizes of v2, we could add an append more for writing to files? This would make sensor/data-logging applications much easier to code.

@askvictor: While we have a little bit more flash, because we're including SoftDevice we don't have loads more than we had on V1. However, the added RAM could be useful.

This would be a bit of feature development work, and before doing that I think we need to compare that effort against the complexity of moving to use the same filesystem implementation as upstream MicroPython versus keeping a micro:bit specific implementation. That's complicated by the fact that our filesystem implementation is tightly coupled to the browser-based Python editors that use microbit-fs to generate the hex payloads that run on the device (see https://github.com/microbit-foundation/microbit-fs for example). And there's also the CODAL MicroBitFileSystem implemantion to speak of, so @finneyj might have some thoughts too!

I'm going to leave this open though, because 'Append' is a common request and a really useful thing to have for data logging.
