defaultValueproperty in Introspection should be a GraphQL input value encoded as a string. It was decoding GraphQL strings and putting the encoded string in there as part of SchemaGenerator. It worked OK until I tested it with GraphiQL. It was trying to parse that value as a string for the@deprecated(reason: String = "No longer supported")argument default value.
