This release improves document search metadata synchronization on large workspaces, adds indexing for text-free images and native OneNote workspace uploads, introduces Microsoft 365 source actions and SharePoint file sync, adds configurable Content Safety category thresholds and Excel/tabular diagnostics, and fixes system-prompt preservation and collaboration workflows.

Highlights

Image analysis, OneNote uploads, and document metadata sync

  • Text-free image indexing (#1584): Index AI vision descriptions for standalone images and figures even when OCR finds no text, and route vision analysis through the enabled AI connection that hosts the selected vision model.
  • System prompt preservation with chat uploads (#1858 / #1855): Ensure default_system_prompt is always preserved in standard and streaming chat turns when images, files, or augmentation system messages are present in the conversation.
  • Background document metadata & tag sync (#1645, #1658, #1673): Save tags, titles, authors, and classifications immediately while synchronizing search index chunks in bounded background batches and invalidating cached search results upon completion.
  • Native OneNote workspace uploads (#1525): Support uploading .one and .onepkg files to workspaces.

Excel / tabular diagnostics, Content Safety thresholds, and workflow drafting (#1839)

  • Tabular processing & HTTP diagnostics: Add opt-in HTTP attempt diagnostics for foreground tabular Azure OpenAI calls and preserve required-tool behavior across tabular analysis rounds so the model can complete after initial tool usage while still allowing dependent follow-up tool rounds.
  • Content Safety category thresholds: Add configurable per-category Content Safety block thresholds in Admin Settings and enhance safety violation admin list/card views and CSV exports with date and user metadata.
  • Workflow & agent instruction drafting: Route workflow and agent instruction drafting through resolve_metadata_extraction_client() so selected multi-endpoint / Foundry metadata extraction deployments are used consistently.

Microsoft 365 actions and SharePoint file sync

  • Add Microsoft 365 source actions (Outlook Mail, Calendar, OneDrive, and SharePoint) with interactive reconnect, approval cards, and delegated workflow access (#1497).
  • Add SharePoint file sync and retained-file analysis support.

Model capabilities, token budgets, and defaults

  • Populate the verified model token catalog and wire selected model token budgets through Semantic Kernel agents and bounded retrieval.
  • Add admin settings for default model and reasoning effort on new conversations (#1520).
  • Upgrade the default Azure OpenAI image generation API version to 2025-04-01-preview for gpt-image model support.

Fixes and maintenance

  • Fix shared-conversation follow-on prompts, invite history preservation, and event delivery (#1515, #1603).
  • Preserve the Azure Maps tile token when tool results are redacted and render inline map attribution as text (#1614, #1618).
  • Support ANSI-encoded CSVs in tabular processing and reroute repeated tool failures (#1502).
  • Remove MCP stdio support and harden action authorization and stored filename XSS protections (#1500, #1503).
  • Backport Key Vault Secrets Officer role grants for app identities and improve deployment post-configuration reliability (#1488, #1587).
